he's jsut picking up his bit

there was an article on it last year and he was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'i would like to play, i could play in france, but they wouldnt pay me as much for the effort' or something. i may be being harsh i'll find the article

EDIT: i was a bit ahrsh like haha

"French clubs don't punch at the same weight as English ones when it comes to salaries. Returning to France would be complicated for me,"

"The wages in England are twice as high and I can't see a French club investing that much money in a player.

"I'd consider an interesting challenge in France, but the salary is the problem."

I could believe that the way he left here while the 'hardcore' hung around. It's a shame he though the grass was greener and I doubt he's on much more at veeela than he was picking up here.

I saw something in him, bassong and enrique but we've definitly got the best of the 3 still here.

Jose's the yardstick when it comes to a true professional. I'd honestly shack up with him if the offer was on the table.

I know some think he's a traiitor but I'd have him back pronto. I always saw him as a typical modern overseas professional. Wanted to play footie at the highest level and for the best money with no ties to any club.

Imo he was one of the few bright points in that relegation season and I don't remember him ever going awol, when plenty of others did.

Beye was a solid player but thats about all. Not great by any means.

Seems to have shown his true colours in being happy to train, pick up a cheque and watch the match..

Aye, still I'd take him any day over Simpson/Perch.

Ive been quietly impressed with Simpson, obviously had a bad injury last season and I thought he was shit, but this year he's settled in well-he was almost perfect at the Emirates(one silly mistake late on).

Yeah since his return Simpson has been quite good for us. Still likes to give his man a bit too much space when on the ball, but there's not a whole heap of players in England that are great with the ball at their feet so it doesn't cost us that much. Growing in confidence on the ball, though still a little pronee to turning it over under pressure. Decent at getting forward and has a good enough engine to do it and get back in time.

Think we need to be realistic about Simpson. He's young, quite experienced already, had a great nurturing at Man Utd and I can't tell you many about I'd replace him with in this current side.

It's similar to SWP potentially coming in. Who would he replace and who would drop out 'cos the way I see it I'd play Simpson, Coloccini, Taylor/Willo , Jose, Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Jonas, Ben Arfa and Carroll.

It's a decent side that often gets overlooked in comparison to others who are feared for no apparant reason. It's not always greener on the other side and I'd only like to see one or two come in. They'll only sit on the bench I reckon with the money we'd have available so not be upto displacing the aforementioned.

The one weak link in that lot is Jonas. Without getting into the usual for / against Jonas argument, the bottom line is that if we could get another "Barton" for the left side, then I think we would have a very formidable first team. The problem as we are seeing, is thats its very rare you can get them fit and all out at once.

At some point Ferguson or more probably Lua Lua will get a go out left, but if we can find a ready made one somewhere then that would be ideal.

The other oprion ofcourse is a new pacey forward to play of Carrol and Ben Arfa on the wing.

Good thing is we are getting there and getting there without the journeymen as well.
