Deano 0
Jesus christ ant, "our wee streak". We're up ffs, catch yourself on. have we had our bad patch yet? no, and every team gets one, if you think we're going be where we are at the end of the season you're mental. We've a bad spell to come and most other teams around us have had theirs frankly. Flying high in 7th means fuck all when your less than 3 losses from the relegation zone, and there is plenty of teams below us capable of over taking us and sending us back into a relegation fight, do you really think even a team like Villa will be below us end of the season? Yes along with Wolves, West Ham, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Everton, Liverpool, Birmingham, West Brom, Blackpool, Stoke and Fulham.

LeazesMag 0
He'll sign someone if the deal is fits in with the way the club is now run. What they wont do is get blackmailed to sign or loan average players with silly wage demands. I think something will still happen as the window closes, however I would rather we bought nowt than rubbish. The players we have are easily capable of maintaining premiership status. Are you daft? all the above aside, with our small squad, our lack of quality as it is, without a guaranteed cemented replacement coming in, would you let a player who can start at times bugger off on loan? no, no you wouldn't, and if that's the way to "run a club" we are well and truly fucked if barton, caroll and enrique pick up injuries. This is why Ashley is a cunt, Pardew is a dogsbody, edit > i literally can't fathom how you can call yourself a newcastle fan, But for two late goals we would be 4 points off a champions league spot. but we DID concede 2 late goals. LeazesMag 0
Again i liked Pardews interview after the game. He's honest and open and to the point. I honestly can see 'potential' as a manager....likes the attacking game and he wants us to be responsible at the back. I just wish we had some clout so he could bring in a few more faces. We do need a striker, wide man and cover at left and right back. Pardew is a better manager than a lot of people/maybe cretins have given credit for. However, he can't give NUFC the team befitting their status and potential doing the job with his hands tied. Well yeah...he wont be able to spend the sort of money we were once used to LM but that comes more so from the fact that we were in the Championship last year than FMA's running of the club. Like i said at the time, i think the relegation season was a positive and much needed albeit a black mark in our history. We've come back into the PL without spending alot, a huge gamble on FMA's part but one which looks like, and would be a very very good gamble. Many teams have come up and spent big and went straight back down. We've dodged that bullet and are looking likely to finish top 10 and possibly in a european place with a bit of luck. With the TV money, sponsorship, league placing and other monies received for this season then FMA will in affect of done something fantastic for our clubs finances. I would then EXPECT us to start spending money which befits are status. Once more for the record....i hate FMA for some of the things he's done to our club and i'd sooner he left but underlying all the bullshit...he has done and is doing some good. Also...i think Pardew has the potential to be one of our best managers....cliche i know but given time and backing he could do very well. With Carver alongside him too. We would not have been relegated if Ashley had backed Keegan. Our revenue has gone down massively since we had the 14th biggest turnover in football. This is also down to Ashley. He will not build on what is turning out to be a decent first season back in the top flight. Enjoy it while you can.

Aye takes an awful lot of fitness to shield the ball in the corner of the pitch in injury time Exactly. Play it from side to side, go nowhere, short passes. Just don't give the ball away. Barney 0
I thought the corner flag might have been an option for Barton late on, but we had 4 on 2. He had to go for it. Shit ball. Aside from that, Sholas ball retention late on got worse and that 50 yard shot and refusal to put Lovenkrands through were criminal of an experienced pro. Ranger was unlucky not to seal it late on-Lovenkrands didn't give him an option and he should have fed Perch anyway. Simpson showing Lennon inside was very silly. Lennon had been dangerous, but caused little hassle when shown onto his left down the line.

Monroe Transfer 0
Ranger had a split second to make a decision when he had that chance and he probably spotted a little opening to the right of Cudicini so went for it. He did extremely well to get into such a position. I'm trying to forget this game ended the way it did. I'd have been happy with a point before the match so I'll just think of that. Noelie 103
Simpson showing Lennon inside was very silly. You mean Wilson don't you? Actually I think Simpson's worst problem is his backing up and letting them into areas they should be kept out of. He jockeys the same way which in part was respnsible for Lennon's goal. He also gives the wingers too much space and doesn't close them down because of his retreating. He should be forcing them to stay out of the box, not letting them in. Neville Neville Neville 0
Couple of my thoughts: 1/ Am not a massive fan of ranger but I think having a go at his missed chance, as outlined by parky, etc, is unfair. Don't think there's many players who would have got to that position and been able to spot the available passes (whether there was actually an available pass on, i haven't seen it back again). And definitely noone who would have joined newcastle on a free and be happy as an impact player 2/ Lovenkrands really frustrates me. I am really impressed by his ability to get into these goalscoring positions again and again. Its not like he has the pace he had a few years ago, so it must be that he's really good at reading the game (despite the comments made by others about his position on the ranger chance) and gambling on things. Always seems to get one or two really good chances, even when there's not many. His finishing has gone like. However, again I wouldn't blame him for today's big miss. I thought he made a lovely run, and chose the right option of where to put the ball, it was just one that from that position, if the keeper does well you can't really score 3/ I am a shola-phile. I think he's a much better footballer than a lot of people give him credit for. He's infuriating of course, and is not adverse to the absolute ridiculous (note his 50 yard through ball/attempted lob/passback)), as well as the sublime. But come genius, come bambi-on-ice, there's always something to comment on with shola, and always something to laugh/marvel at. Anyway, I thought he had a reasonable game today. However, he's the one who I'd have a go at for not getting the second goal. This season he is at times unmarkable/unplayable on corners (which we seem brilliantly drilled on all season, attacking ones anyway), and his run and barton's delivery were sublime for that chance. Was sure the net would bulge, but it was a pretty horrendous header by any striker's standards, let alone sholagoal's. What we (well, Pardew) need to be quick at is spotting once shola's done for the day (usually around 60-70 mins in) and getting him off, as he's not really a 90mins player. I thinks its probably more to do with injuries and fitness than motivation but once his legs have gone for the day, he should be hauled off 4/ Thought jonas was really good today. Come to expect the performances from colli and enrique and barton (slightly wayward passing today withstanding) but thought he put in a brilliant shift today and even got some reasonable crosses in. One moment early in the second half where he carried the ball across field and ended up on the right with a decent delivery i thought was really good, and something I'd like to see more of. 5/ I was pleased with the performance (as I have overwhelmingly been this season). I'm not overly critical on us dropping the points (again) as it does happen and I woudn't really blame the players on the pitch. The main problem is the bench options. When you're 1-0 against a team able to keep/move the ball like spurs, and desperately hanging on, you ideally need 2 players with legs. The striker to latch onto clearance/hassle and harry, and someone with the legs and composure from midfield to join when the opportunity arises (but still be defensive minded enough to stay back until the break is on) and offer the right option. Ranger (despite his limitations) did the former but there was no one for the latter. Don't think routledge would been that player. Lovenkrands would have been ideal a few years ago. Barfa hopefully will be capable. Nolan, Barton, Guthrie, Jonas at the end of a hard shift definitely aren't. Would be nice if we had a rangy central midfielder coming through the youth system/reserves who could come on for the last 10-15 mins if we're on holding on to do that. Was trying to think of examples, obviously there's top players like yaya, diaby, but a more realistic one would be someone like jenas in his early days.
