WHAT?

So he played 22 PREMIERSHIP games in a month? Feck off!

who said that like? Can you read?

You're a bit confused in your argument. You start by saying Ireland isn't as good as Smith or Guthrie (I'm better than Smith), the one of the arguments you use is the fact he played shit on his debut for a club without a manager, who were all shit on the day, pathetic you use this argument. The only logical reason he hasn't been playing well for Villa his managers lack of faith and the fact he hasn't been getting a regular game and virtually never starting. It's not difficult.

nothing confused here,

I said he was a brilliant player before his ‘virus’.

As Ive said his present form is so bad he’s worse than Smith and Guthrie.

His poor form included his game here as an example.

City wanted rid because he wasn’t the way he was, Villa got stung and want rid because he wasn’t the way he was.

You want him here because he was brilliant, I’m pointing out that — it’s not as easy as that.

:jesuswept: he's got no present form though cos he hasn't been fucking playing, purely down to Houllier.

City wanted rid because they spent £25m on one of the best players in his position in the world David Silva, not to mention other midfielders like Milner. It's not like he was being punted from Wigan, City also punted their POTS Bellamy, incredibly flawed point.

Bellamy has never been crap so I don’t see the comparison.

Villa and City fans plus Mancini and Houllier all thought that he just needed a few games — Villa gave him ten — but they’ve all seen he’s been shite.

But he was brilliant so that’s OK — no flaw there then!

Your argument was that City wanted rid, and no one knows the exact reasons for that but they also wanted rid of Bellamy so obviously there's a comparison. Ireland's never been crap in his career neither, especially when he's been playing week in week out. Villa gave him ten - they've all seen he's been shite ;) he's been coming off the bench ffs. If Arsenal fans judged Henry on 10 sub appearances then he'd have been out the fucking door. Strike me roan.

of his 10 appearances 4 have been as sub up until October when Houllier and Villa realised he wasn’t good enough, not even to try and get his form back and subsequently are willing to make a huge loss on him.

You haven’t seen him play, but he use to be great, their views don’t matter as you know best — OK then!!!

first Bellamy, wtf has Henry got to do with it!!!!!!!!

What school did you go to? Because Henry was shit in his first 10 games for Arsenal, if the Arsenal fans were as stupid as Villa's they'd have been writing him off early too.

As soon as he's playing regularly will be the time to judge if he's finished, ridiculous even insulating otherwise.

so you want to sign a player on loan for a maximum of 15 games who has proven to need more than 10 games to be anything other than shite.

Glad I didn’t go to your school if that’s the logic it inspires.

Would you give him all 15 games whether he’s shite or not then?

We need a good quality midfielder with creativity yes, but not one just because even though he’s shite now he was brilliant.

I'd give him a go of course I would. If Pardew wants him he'll have confidence in him and he's not had a manager who has and been fit since Mark Hughes left Man City. Some players need an arm round the shoulder he is definitely one. You still don't have a point, it's just confused words about him having a virus last year, people are countering the reasons he hasn't played "you seen him recently" no and neither has no cunt else. 10 min substitute appearances here and there oh dear.

Im confused.

First youre saying he was out with a virus, then youre saying he wasnt out that long :S

doesn’t take much then.

it’s not how long he was out for that matters, but the apparent impact on his form.

How can you have form when you don't play? Oh dear.

Are you a smack head?

Youre contradicting yourself so much man. One minute youre saying hes out, then when someone post evidence to say he played a fair wedge of games you say he wasnt out for long.

Like Stevie says man, you cant get form if you're not playing man!

he has played more than the ten minutes you claim Stevie — oh dear.

but you now better than everyone else because you haven’t seen him play — oh dear.

you’re not concerned that he is going to probably be our only recruit until the end of the season and even though he’s been shite for several games this season he WAS brilliant once — oh dear.

Look it's a pretty simple one. He's a class player when in form but he's a notorious cockend of a man. So you could either get someone who's very good or someone who is a complete negative influence. Additionally as has been said, if his signing represented the entireity of the Jan budget, then it'd probably be better spent in a different position. Obviously theres no guarantees of that though in the event he didnt sign.

As to him being shit at Villa I wouldnt even look to virus' or lack of a run of games for an explantation, it's far simpler than that, it's because he never wanted to go there in the first place. He was Billy Big Bollocks at City and he revelled in it and when that was taken away his response has been less than impressive. So there again I'd say it was quite simple, his worth to this team would depend on how much he wanted to come here and graft for a place.

Giraffidae getting a battering here.

For what it's worth I'd like to see him here and see if his form picks up his form again a la Barton.

* Waits for CT to use this as an example of net bullying....

Girraffidae's being here nearly two years, not two days, so I assumes knows the score. :jesuswept:

Plus this seems a fair two sided heated exchange, without any personal abuse (so far.....reads on....) ;)

Fwiw it should be setting alarm bells ringing that he can't get in the villa team, our midfield is stronger than their's imo.

Fair point. It would also seem daft if the 'Jan transfer budget' (lolzers) all goes on a CM who plays in the same position as Nolan and, potentially, HBA.

we can’t keep relying on Barton for our midfield creativity and for dead balls.

I know HBA is due back in a few weeks but Nolan can’t offer what we need.

I thought you were against his coming here :jesuswept:

I’ve never said he’s out — although he is out with knee injury at the moment.

I’ve always said he played regularly up until his virus and a few games after but it’s his performances that were the concern.

If I ever did take to smack I would probably still be able to read, unlike some.

Strange arguments going on here.

Stevies view seems to be a long run of games is needed to hopefully / possibly get a return to his past good form.

How will he get time for a long run if he's currently playing crap.

Connumdrum!

His only real hope is to come here and re-create that form instantly. There is not a hope in hell of him keeping Nolan or Guthrie out if he's playing shite.

Obviously he has but coming off the bench EVERY week isn't going to pick your form up. Do you understand football?

I now? I know? Must be from dahn saaf. I don't know better than anyone else, never said that, what I said was in a round about way was I know better than you. That's pretty obvious.

The last point :jesuswept: Aye I walk round with Sir Mike Ashley t shirt on with him cuddling his wife and daughter. Course I'm fucking concerned I have written many times we need three players now, we need more than just someone who is an excellent player and lost his way a bit due to circumstantial shit, we need at least another two, a left winger long term.

Your entire contribution to this thread - oh dear. Next time you post think to yourself, am I just going to type nothing here, or am I gonna click ok sit back put the racing on and think aye I had a point to make there, good lad.

My argument is more complex than that. You have to understand the players personalities and be a man manager to get the best out of them. Houllier is shit at it, and a bitter old bastard, he hasn't forgiven Ginola 17 years after it happened. SBR was the master at it. Ireland's had no love since Hughes was sacked 16 month ago, strangely when Ireland started playing pish. Funny that.

We need a striker, not this bald heed-case. He'd be a step up from Guthrie, but I don't want to pay a possible contribution of 40k/week for an upgrade on Guthrie who is also totally barmy and could damage our team spirit. If there's only money for one signing, it must be a striker.

New poster on this particular forum guys so be gentle. Ireland seems a good addition to the squad imo. Although he may not fit in to our ideal starting 11 when can anyone remember our midfield being filled by the 4 or even 5 we would like to be their. Also, we don't no what state Ben Arfa will be in if at all this season, gsling has had a set back and who is to say someone else doesn't get injured or suspended (Tiote close to a further 2 game ban) As long as it is a loan deal it will knock Perch down the pecking order which lets be honest can only be a good thing.

We do need a striker that is for certain but we do have some fit strikers at the club with some coming back hopefully soon, midfield however we need strength in depth we currently don't have and having let routledge leave (not great this season but a midfield body) we are seriously lacking in that department. At the end of the day, IMO, what is the point of bying a new striker if you are relying on Perch in midfield as part of the supply line?

Can't believe people are turning noses up at him tbh. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we sign anyone in this window let alone a player of irelands class. Anyway, a good manager will build a system to incorporate his best players. There's definitely room for him in our starting 11. I agree with stevie - he looks the type that needs an arm around the shoulder and a manager that tells him he believes in him

Good first post GeeForce the absolute key thing is Perch is pushed further do the pecking order to the extent he's almost tea lady, you're right. We do need a striker though, it's just not the highest on our list of priorities at the moment.

Gee Force the name reminds me of the world ugliest strike force though Gates and Gabbiadini, that's what they used to get called.
