Noelie 103
Sounds like Pardew has come to realise how Ashley plans to operate in the transfer market. I think Pardew knew before he came aboard all about Ashley's operation skills and transfer policies. I see Pardew's talk about Shola & Best as a smokescreen to cover his arse if he doesn't bring another striker in. I think Pardew is an Ashley/Lambias cockney mafia yes man and won't rock Ashley's boat. He'll play the game with the cards he's dealt and hope Ashley comes up with some trumps. Shola isn't much better than he has been over the years, no fulfillment of promise. And Best, so he scored three times in one game, what else has he done to prove we don't need another striker? Pardew is talking shite, that's my opinion.

The Fish 10977
Just a thought, and probably nonsense but my body clock is all over the place at the moment so bear with me. Strikers are often the most expensive part of the puzzle, and also the most likely to be a flop. Nobody seems to care if you spend £5m on a midfielder who turns out to be toss, but if you spend £8m on a striker and he doesn't get a sniff of a goal, he's a flop and you're shit in the market. Given Carroll's early season form and the rest of the team chipping in (at the minute) is it not prudent to strengthen other areas of the team with the limited budget available, rather than spunking it on what could be a very costly mistake? Yes, I think we need a striker, I think we're in greater need of depth at the back and on the wings. £5m on squad depth may be money better spent, than £5m on Bothroyd and some unknown Estonian turnip botherer? I do believe this is Pardew saying we're not buying a striker, I just don't necessarily think a striker is priority #1. but like I said, I'm pretty much all over the place, so I'm most likely talking shit
luckyluke 2
We've spoken about it here before, he has his pals in the media ask him about players he's interested in and stirs the shit spouting he's a "'triffic playa..." then says he'd be interested should the player become available. He's an arse-faced tosser, IMO. Aye, I think the Spurs fans are aware of this tactic as well. He does all his transfers publicly. What about the brown paper bags? His missus makes him wear one when he's on the job, the droopy faced cunt.
Guest alex
In the midst of all this media wanking over 'Arry I've been thinking he isn't doing as well as they're making out. I know he's gotten them into the CL which was a big achievement and they've done well in the competition this season but when you look at their side I think they should be disappointed. They're 5th and 8 points and a game behind Man Utd and all the sides above them have dropped loads of points. To be that far off the pace in a year when 80 points may well win you the title isn't particularly good.

It should have been the perfect opportunity to sell him to QPR or some upcoming team in the Championship.
Guest alex
I'm sure we would've done if there'd been any half-decent offer made.
