Well the booking, to me if he really believes he's intentionally tried to twat the guy with his elbow it's a red card. There's no middle ground with that type of thing. I hate Webb, haaaaaate, typical copper. I can't remember a ref I have more disdain for since Brian Coddington.

NJS regarding your crack about Webb and that Fulham goal. It was nothing like the Boro goal, he was no near anyone else, it was a hallucination of a decision.

It was deliberate handball Stevie, not the elbow.

And I meant the way Nolan "blocked" the goalie not anything Viduka did.

Nolan did fuck all, and it looked like it was for an elbow from where I was.

I agree he did nothing but that's what the call was - the commentators also confirmed that Webb had said it was for handball.

I think it was deliberate handball like Stevie. That's why I thought it was a joke of a decision. I thought he'd given it for an elbow at first too though.

I don't know why, but I have this image in my head of Steve Bruce sat in his office all like:

"'Ey man, the Toon missed out on Seb Larsson so lets get him in to rub it in 'ow we're the bigger club 'ey! And you knows what would be funny!? Michael Owen!"

Steve Bruce: "I think it should have been eight or nine or 10 minutes injury time, to be honest. Every time Joey Barton got the ball - and I thought Joey Barton played very well - it was like leading the orchestra, wasn't it?

He went down twice and the second time, he was on the deck for about 15 seconds.

I think it was a bit more often than twice and Barton actually got a bit theatralic in his protests at some stage. But he had every right actually because if Webb actually had done anything against the persistent fouls of the Sunderland players the game would have been much more fluid. It's a shame that Sunderland in the end actually got a reward for the antics.

The Bardsley tackle was terrible. If you swapped that around Barton would have walked for that.

You know he had it all planned the night before. What he was going to do when each goal went crashing into the back of our net.

"When Bent gets his hat-trick I'll pull me kegs down to show my bare arse to the mags. I'll put a W on each cheek so it says WOW when I pull me arse cheeks apart!"

Never mind, Brucie eh?

.com saying that the song Bruce wanted was "Who Let The Dogs Out" ;):icon_lol:

Someone on NO reckoned it was Lindisfarne - Run For home.

Gospel then :D

tbh though if it had been then he should be done for inciting bother, its inherently classy and with moral undetones though.

Whatever it was, we would have deserved it despite any additional violence, pitch invasions, knife carrying etc it incited. Social justice would have been done with the moral compass of the north-east once again pointing in the right direction.

Somebody should have mentioned to him their timewasting in the first match [ taking their time to pick the ball out of the net on five occasions] :icon_lol::D if we had of played extra for that it could have been double figures. No doubt about it he's proved himself to be a first class tool over these two games. ;)
