The Fish 10963
http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/local/sunderland-swingers-club-announces-national-plans-for-sex-parties-1-4474945 Sunderland swingers club announces national plans for sex parties Site of swingers club in Villiers Street, Sunderland. Published on Monday 23 April 2012 09:14 A CONTROVERSIAL swingers’ club in Sunderland has unveiled plans to hold sex parties across the country. Secrets swingers’ club in Villiers Street, Sunniside, is proposing to hold parties in Manchester, Leeds and London. According to its website, organisers also hope to launch overnight accommodation at the venue, which boasts a “dogging room” with full-size car. One visitor said: “It looks as if it has really taken off. They’ve added an accommodation part to the building, which means people can stay overnight if they want to.” As reported in the Echo, planners at Sunderland City Council have asked it to apply for planning permission, which would allow those with concerns to submit official objections. The venue – which says its parties are “fun, sexy and discreet” – could be shut down if the owners do not apply for planning permission, or if their retrospective application is rejected by councillors. Father Chris Jackson, parish priest of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Penshaw, was among those to speak out against the club when plans were first put in the spotlight, describing it as “the last thing Sunderland needs”. However, the club sparked a mixed reaction from neighbours, with some happy to live and let live while others were concerned about the impact on the area. Swinging, whereby couples swap sexual partners, is legal and, while the club does need planning permission, it may not need a special council licence. Single girls and couples are offered free entry to parties advertised on the club’s website, with single men charged up to £40. All members must be over-21 and pay an annual membership fee. A statement on the Secrets website reads: “We offer a relaxed and friendly environment to meet like-minded people. “All new members are shown around and given chance to ask questions. We are a totally non-pushy venue – our number one rule is no means no. “Our staff are always on hand to answer any of your questions on the night.” Secrets declined to comment. The Fish 10963
Inherently Moral Racist Sunderland fan burgled home of girlfriend’s dead mother Peter Copeland admitted posting racist comments on Twitter attacking a number of black players from Newcastle United. Published on Thursday 10 May 2012 09:56 A SUNDERLAND AFC fan who posted racist abuse on the internet also burgled the home of his girlfriend’s mother shortly after she died. Peter Copeland’s sentencing for the burglary had been deferred, but he breached the deferment by making racist anti-Newcastle United remarks on the Twitter messaging website, Durham Crown Court heard. Prosecutor Sean Dryden said: “The burglary took place at the West Rainton home of the mother of the defendant’s former partner. “The mother had recently died and the defendant waited until his partner was away for the weekend, before stealing cash and jewellery valued at £3,700. “He pawned the jewellery at a shop in Sunderland for £2,500, before going out on the town in Darlington.” Copeland, 29, of Benridge Bank, West Rainton, admitted burglary on October 4, last year. Tony Davis, defending, said about the Twitter comments: “Mr Copeland sent those messages under severe provocation. “He is now in work, taking home about £160 a week as a labourer. “He has board and lodgings to pay, but could manage £50 a week towards compensation for the victims of the burglary.” Judge Christopher Prince sentenced Copeland to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, a 12-month supervision order, and 150 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £3,740 in compensation and costs. The judge told Copeland: “Your former partner took you into her confidence by showing you her’s and her family’s jewellery. “You breached this confidence by staging a burglary, then selling some things to a pawnbroker before going out on the town, with cash in your pocket, boasting about what you had done. “Then, you are before a court for posting foul and racist abuse on the communications network. “I’m sure ordinary people must wonder what goes through your mind – these were two quite despicable offences.” Copeland must pay the compensation and costs at £50 a week. Gemmill 46029
Bloke on the SMB describes Man United not winning the title at the SOL as "one of the most enjoyable moments of my fifty years as a Sunderland supporter."
