Dr Gloom 22182
Glad the yid fuckers didn't get it but think it will end up being a disaster anyway. Half empty most matches and shite atmosphere This is where Stevie, Danny and so on have got it all wrong. The future of football is to do with mass tv audiences across the planet and little or nothing to do with fans needs or desires. That's where the money is. Pretty sure people will be paid to actually attend matches in the not too distant future or there wil be canned chants... matchday revenue is is still massive mate. that spurs design would have earned them a lot more wonga, especially with all the extra executive boxes and posh seats Edited February 11, 2011 by Dr Gloom
BlythSpartan 0
I lived in Hackney for 3 fun packed years... Most of the kids there support Arsenal or Chelsea. But West Ham does have apparently more season ticket applications than it has seats, so perhaps they can fill it, perhaps. Leyton Orient definately could not which is a shame as it's certainly in their 'manor'. Plus they beat Wales a few years ago didn't they!?

When they scored their goals, the PA system boosted the cheering. Maybe Coventry City can bus in a load of Chinese Uni students to fill the empty seats. There is enough of them here. OTF 7496
Grounds with running tracks blow. Unless they're packed to the brim you lose the cauldron atmosphere that you get from a custom built football ground. The biggest ground we have in Sydney is the Olympic stadium and it's painfully shit watching anything there without a packed stadium. Australia beating Uruguay in a shootout to qualify for the 2006 World Cup was absolutely amazing, seeing a Rugby League game there with 20k not so much (capacity 80,000+ down from 110,000 for the Olympics). Seeing Beckahm Galaxy vs Sydney FC despite the big crowd was not that special. Having a better atmosphere from the sidelines can make a huge difference in the match, so expect to see boring insipid gutless low intencity matches there. SCOREBOARD1 0
60,000??? those stupid cockney fuckers. Struggle to get 40,000 even if they were doing well. Least we will get a massive allocation when we play them. Doubt the West Ham fans will be happy, playing a fucking souless, half empy stadium that none of them wanted. Then again in modern football when are fans thoughts taken into consideration???? I feel sorry for the them. NobbySol 7
Chuffed the yids didnt win the bid but pretty sure it's a ridiculous decision by west ham to submit their request with the stadium running track remaining. It was probably the only way they were going to win the vote but the atmosphere will be terrible

I remember back when towards end of Mckeag era or possibly stsrt of Surgeon's time , used to sometimes 'go posh' as a kid n get the odd seat ticket in Milburn as a change to the corner. Top left corner of Milburn for a bit of shelter if it was a ropey day ! Anyway, we used t get in about 230 n read programme n get into builup/players warming up n suchwhat . Remember one time sitting n they were playing crowd cheers through speakers . Really surreal at the time and funny seeing folk looking quizically about especially as ground only about a third full that far ahead of kick off . It was a fad that didnt last long like thank Gowd ! . . Eh nostalgia eh - it's a thing of the past .
