Once again, never a sending off. Superb challenge and won the ball fairly.

Cant back this statement up enough, brilliant challenge, never touched the player at all.

FA will never rescind it though, they will see him off the ground and instantly ignore it, which is a shame because they will be blatantly ignoring the great challenge.

Nevermind the match, what a fucking dreadful co-commentator Craig Burley is. How did that cunt get the job? He's terrible man, worse than Beglin.

I agree...has a evident dislike to us but even he said the sending off was wrong.

"If thats a sending off then young defenders now, hang up your boots"

Speaking of cheating bastards, the dive that kid done to get Coloccini booked was Olympic standard. Landed right on his head as well. I like to see some bravery in the art of trying to get someone sent off.

I remember that, fair play it takes some commitment to skid on the turf on your cheek. Especially on that surface. There was another one before the Smith booking. It was a tackle by Nolan, the guy did three or four rolls and started hammering his fist on the ground.

What a disastrous day. For a moment during the second half I thought maybe we didn't care about progressing despite the senior players starting the game. Then he brought Tiote on who was fired up so going out was clearly not part of the plan. Pardew basically fucked that right up and managed to do damage to the squad for the next game. Spectacular fail.

He got straight 9.5's from everyone in my local.

Ah Newcastle, my Newcastle, you never fail to live up to expectations.

Is there a Newcastle United fan anywhere, over the age of 16, who didn't think this result had a probability about it?? I got up this morning, saw the result, shrugged, and basically said to myself 'What a surprise. Not'. Most NUFC supporters, prior to the game, would have said 'yeah, we should beat these', but deep down they knew, knew, a shock was a distinct probability as this is Newcastle United. Any of you youngsters just setting out supporting this great club, get out or get used to it, because this is how it's gonna be ever thus.

Good luck to Stevenage. After all, however painful it is, this is what the FA cup is all about. It does seem rather odd though that the meeja are lapping it up so much as I have lost count the number of times I've heard/read that we're not a big club.

Look on the bright side, ESPN got what they so desperately wanted i.e. their equivalent of Hereford footage to be repeated for ever more.

And there is a silver lining to this result. There will be no complacency next week when we visit the land that time forgot. Yeah, we could be beat, but the team will be up for it - big time, even more so than sunlun imo, who had a bit of a shocker yesterday themselves.

Lets start from the top.

This always was gonna be a case of fate adjusting the balance. We robbed them 13 years ago, now they've done us...the aim was to not let that happen.

Pardew, and im a fan, got this wrong. He put out a very strong team but that wasnt enough to beat these. Although on paper we should of anhialated them.

We got dragged down to League 2 football and lets be honest we were battered. Battered. They battered us. Battered.

Never did we look like putting the foot on the ball and saying "We a from the premier league" Not once.

Barton on the left...wrong...Routledge is quick and has a shite final ball so really made more sense letting him run with it down the left and letting Barton do what he's done well so far on the right.

We never created anything, second to every second ball...panicked and got done.

Credit to Stevenage though, they really outdone themselves tonight so fair play to them.

Referee is a complete wanker...Tiotes tackle is one of the best iv seen in years and that really disabled us to push on but once again lets be honest...our shit play had let to us already being 2-0 down.

Summary...we were shit...stevenage were good...pardew gpt it wrong and the players werent game....Fate took its course? Probably.

Its over and done with...aye im pissed off but lets not dwell on this too much before them mackems...in fact lest take it out on the mackems and concetrate on finishing 7th. ;)

It was stupid. A red card was harsh, but a fraction of second later and the Stevenage player could easily have been looking for a new a career. After the huge fuss that was made about De Jong’s tackle (he got the ball too) on Ben Arfa any complaints about Titoe’s sending off are on weak ground. No doubt the hypocrisy on Nobs Online will be breathtaking.

Either you've not played the game OR your talking shit...

Im a CM and that there was a legendary tackle...he didnt go over the ball, wasnt two footed nor was it studs up....it looked reckless because the angle he went into the tackle but for the technique of tackling that was 100%.

Nothing wrong in it at all.

Your opinion is pish.

Obviously not a very good one.

What position do you play then? Goalkeeper?

Seriously fella........that was a good tackle and i dont see how its otherwise.

Perhaps at the level of football you play, or fifteen years ago in the professional game. Today though it was the kind of challenge that gives the referee the option of waving red. Personally I preferred the more robust version of the game but nowadays any lunge, no matter how well timed, is a potential red card.

It was a stupid challenge; the best CM’s in the family friendly version of football don’t go to ground unless there’s is no other option. They anticipate and think. They weigh up the pros and cons and make intelligent decisions. In this instance they probably would have looked to cover the space the lad was running into, not jump in with all guns blazing. Tiote is a hothead, as his booking per game ratio shows. Good player, but it was only a matter of time before he got sent off.

First bold....Dont patronise me...football is football whatever the level...

Second bold...Aye i agree in essence...the modern game or should i say the modern governing body doesnt like these decisions because they are just that...decisions...and hard ones at that. But this is something that should be addressed. Any self respecting FOOTBALL fan knows how the game used to be played, how it still SHOULD be played and that THAT was a perfect tackle!

Third bold...You backtracking and agreeing with me then? <_<

With respect, your opinion of a modern CM dropping off into the space, reading the game differently is also pish....when your 2 foot from a guy and have the chance to win the ball...you win the ball...simples.

I really cant see where your coming from here....i like you are a newcastle fan but come on mate....look at it again...and again...and again until your brain clicks and you see that your actually talking shite.......want bet that the red card is recinded????

To be fair you’re the one who seems to think playing CM for some pub team / non league team makes you Helenio Herrera, which is as patronising as it misguided.

A bet? OK, if Tiote’s red card is rescinded I’ll close my account on here. If it’s not you close yours.

The stakes couldnt be higher <_<

:rolleyes::( :( :wank: :wank:

Ugh. The next day and it still stings.

Well done stevenage. I hope you got your retribution or whatever it was the media were hyping it up as. We needed to settle a score as well you know. You acted with little to no class in '98 and I wanted to shut you up once and for all. I didn't get my wish and that is what probably hurts the most.

Yeah, we got humiliated. It's happened before and it will happen again. We need to use this as a rocket up our arses and move on because if we do well next sunday (which I doubt, but whatever) and in the rest of the season this will be a fast fading memory.

As bad as this result is, I don't feel as bad as I did when we lost at Luton when Oakes and Hartson scored.

At least the mackems got knocked out by lower league opposition as well, tempers the blow for going into work tomorrow.

Quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen us play, just fucking shocking. How the fuck can you go from putting 5 past West Ham to conceding 3 against a team in the lower leagues?

This season is fucking mental.

Glad I don't pay for ESPN n'all. Shit picture quality and coverage lost twice, they were nearly as shambolic as we were.
