Christmas Tree 4950
Thought Id start a new thread for the lad as the older ones are not that complimentary. So the next few weeks he continues to bang them in heading towards Carrols 11 combining goals and good play. What happens when Carrol is fit? Can they play together? Are we better with A lovenkrands type partner for Carrol?

Dr Gloom 22789
he did well last night against one of the worst defences in the league. he looks a confidence player so hopefully he will get going now and chip in with a few more goals but i haven't seen enough at this stage to suggest he isn't worth getting rid of if we're able to bring in a striker with a bit more pedigree. jaythesouthernmag 0
Thought he would be shite last night, credit to him tho as he took his goals well. Not going to judge on one game but deserves a run while the big man's out. See how he does on Saturday but I'm willing to give him a crack and looks like Pardew will

Waste of time discussing what we could do with him and Carroll right now.
loonyTOON 10
Think we have two potential partnerships for different games. Because Loven/Best were shit hot together. Im not suggesting dropping Carroll at all, but they do compliment each other and loven was so good last night

JawD 99
Every time I've seen him I've thought he was shite and out of his depth. Obviously I was wrong based on last night. I'm not about to start saying he's solved our 2nd striker problem, but I am now interested in seeing more of him. See how he does against a half decent side. Certainly done no harm one way or another. I've been surprised he jumped ahead of Ranger. Though maybe after last night I can see why.
Tom 14026
I took some mescaline and went and asked a squirrel what he thought of Leon Best but I'm not really sure he knew who I was talking about and he just nodded politely.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Shola, the mackem destroyer must play in the derby along with Carroll if they're both fit. After that his hip will probably be playing up again so we can keep him in a cotton-wool lined box until the next derby, whilst Best / Lovelyglands / Ben Arfa vie for position alongside AC. I think we've all being a bit blinded by Rangers enthusiasm rather than his actual contribution. The legends played a clip from Pardews press conference when they were discussing Ranger and he said that all the staff thought he had the right ingredients, but his application was just not good enough.....or words to that effect. Its a shame we have a few striker injuries as he really could do with a spell on loan. (not sure theyd be banging the door down for him after yesterday mind). The Fish 11127
I'll say one thing. When we signed Best, he was 3rd choice behind Bekford and Moses. Where are they now? Beckford might be decent, but I wouldn't put my house on him and Moses seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet. A decent showing against West Ham (I think) and unluckily knacks his shoulder. He was hardly pulling up trees prior to that though. I'm not saying that Best has answered all his critics just yet. I doubt we'd have been better off with either of the other two though.

peasepud 59
has a dodgy heel apparently and is looking unlikely for tomorrow, we're now looking rather short on the striker front so Nile "Jigsaw" Ranger will probably get a start.
