JamesD 0
Sunderland full of racists? How did you come to that conclusion? Was it because one person called Bent's mam something? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...not-banned.html Remember that? Does that make Newcastle a racist place? No it doesn't. It's one idiot.

It's one idiot. When I worked in Sunderland everyone had a skinhead, and I witnessed racial abuse with my own eyes. You'll catch up in about thirty years, the unsilent majority that is, not nice blokes like you. Gary Bennett used to get racist abuse off Sunderland fans iirc. luckyluke 2
To be fair every club has some racist fans. A friend of mine told me about one of ours at a home game against Spurs. A bloke in his fifties stood up on his own, completely out of the blue, and started shouting, not yids, yid army or anything even scarcely approaching wit but... FUCKKKIN....JEWS! JEWS! JEWS! FUCKKIN JEWS! My mate's season ticket is/was in the Gallowgate so if it was there then he's not even in the vicinity of the Spurs fans ffs. dbsweeney 0
Louise's article has been edited to no longer mention the clipping of the magpie and to NOW mention that Harps was knocked over (describing it so it sounds that Harps' health was more important to Steve B than Sunderland getting the point). Twat One young Sunderland fan's excitement at Gyan's leveller spilt over into something more sinister when he escaped on to the pitch, barged into the back of Steve Harper and shoved Newcastle's goalkeeper over. The incident curtailed Bruce's gloriously uncoordinated goal celebration and only when he realised Harper was unhurt could Sunderland's manager properly reflect on his side's achievement in finally cracking the dominance created by that impressive visiting spinal chord. Suddenly a Magpie appeared on the pitch, eventually taking refuge in a quiet spot just outside Harper's area. So wobbly were Sunderland that it remained undisturbed for quite a while as Bruce's players struggled to regain a semblance of composure. With Coloccini as commanding in Pardew's defence ... BTW: FCB, could you please post the full picture of the magpie with the score written above? Thanks in advance.
dbsweeney 0
No Sunderland players live in Sunderland. And neither does the manager.

Guest alex
I felt a bit sorry for that young kid until I saw him interviewed on the news. Not because of anything he said, just the way him and his Dad seem to think it'll get him off or it should make any difference. Obviously he's contrite but he can't expect to get away with that. Keep your head down for a while you thick twat.
Mac-Toon 1
Has Joey Bartons game changed under Rapey? It's abit unfair to measure against a home and away match, shirley? Maybe he changed his game for sunlun away, we didn't have as much of the ball as in the home game, we weren't as far up the pitch etc etc.
manc-mag 1
It's an offence to set foot on a league pitch quite apart from the 'attack' on Harper. They'll probably still want him banned on that score even if Harper doesn't press charges.

West Ham at home compared to Sunderland at home would be a fairer comparison although comparing just two games is too random to draw too many conclusions anyway. Police will prosecute for going on the pitch regardless, surely. They wouldn't even need Harper's evidence since it's on camera and he's been good enough to admit it in various interviews as well. I would imagine SAFC would want to pursue it anyway.

Just the Guardian making another Joey Barton story. Good to see he doesn't roam over to the left to spray balls about. Obviously Jose and Jonas doing their job. Guest alex
When you factor in that they're both derby matches the games are even more random by their very nature.

The 'assault' would most likely need a complaint from Harper, so if he chose not to pursue that then that'd probably be an end to it, but encroaching on the pitch is a strict liability offence. Not so for rugby pitches (or even non-league football pitches funnily enough), but it is in the professional league.
Barney 0
Missing Tiote/Carroll and having a tactic to clip it over the top against Bramble was probably the change. Wayne Bridelol.
