Gemmill 46162
We're getting a curry and stopping in. Should be a wild one. Is there anyone not yet suitably jaded by this most overrated of nights who has something "special" planned?
peasepud 59
Staying in and having steak. I think I was about 21 when I last went out on the lash for New Year, generally it's been out for a meal on NYE.
Barney 0
Staying in. It's the eldests 2nd birthday the next day. New Years is generally awful. Rented a house with a load of mates a few years back and did a fancy dress piss-up which was good craic.
Anorthernsoul 1221
Will be out painting the town white with my spunk. All over some big breasts hopefully.
Meenzer 15742
Stopping in too. Haven't really bothered with NYE since the Millennium, had a cracking all-nighter at various house parties and can't really see how that'd be beaten. And fuck going out and paying through the nose to get into somewhere that's normally free, obviously. So we're just having friends round tonight. I'm cooking Swedish food and we're going to let the booze flow and crank up the Eurovision DVDs. Rock on!
Guest You FCB Get Out Of Our Club
Couldn't agree more about NYE being the most overrated of nights. I remember when we played Leeds about 96, I was so hungover at the game I was dribbling and couldn't even stand up when we scored. Just having a few sociables local and round to me mates who's just had his fifth kid two weeks ago and has packed the kids off to his missis mother in law, with his missis a good thing, she's happy about as often as Haley's Comet comes roond. He's got super sperm that kid like, he says he only shagged her three times last year, they're always falling out. Few of the lads invited me up to Edinburgh but fuck that. Nowt mad really, it's el nochas del cuntas as Tino might say. A night for once a year drinkers to act like twats and thick people pretend it's something special. Not a patch on Christmas. Last time I went to the Quayside on a New Year was about 99, spent about £200, had a wank night, freezing cold couldn't get moved nee where, so the next year I had it in London and it was much better. Gemmill 46162
I had a decent night last year. Six of us went to that Piccolino on the quayside. I think it was 30 quid which got you a table for the night and a three course meal. Table service all night, so no worries about getting served, no dance floor but room around the tables for people to get up and do midnight well wishing. Then I think they kicked out at 1, which was fine with me.
Renton 22025
Off to Edinburgh by train in a couple of hours. To keep the price of the hotel down you have to book at least a year in advance. Eating in a hopefully great restaurant tonight and tomorrow, then back on Sunday. Thank fuck Monday is a bank holiday. Even so Tuesday the 4th will be literally the most depressing day of the year, normally I just feel like topping myself the first day back at work after Christmas. And this is from someone who likes work. I always do something special on New Years though. Worst one I can remember was about ten years ago when I was invited to a party by a friend who was a bit of a geek. Turns out it was a 'LAN' party where everyone was just playing computer games all night, and didn't even acknowledge the turn of the year, and didn't drink anything but energy drinks. Best was probably the millenium when with a group of friends we rented a remote cottage in Scotland. At the time there was all this hype about the Y2K bug, and sure enough at midnight all the power went out causing a bit of panic. Turned out a fuse had coinicdentally blown at that exact time. I went to school with a lad who, upon his first conquest of a lady, impregnated her with triplets. He's never had a shag since, off anyone. :icon_lol: I'm stopping in. The wifey's out tomorrow so got to be fresh for the bairns and I'll have a good shlog on the bus down to Wigan on sunday. NYE is shite anyway. Thank you Not even double time unfortunately (I think it's time + 2/3) I had all of Christmas off which is what I wanted so I could spend it with baba and the family, so I have to do NYE and NYD nightshifts instead. I don't really mind cos we wouldn't have been going out anyway but there's better places to be than in an operating theatre with someones insides all over the table We might get nothing, in which case we're all taking nice food in and we can celebrate a little bit. If I'm lucky we might get a new year caesarian - that's always quite special

Maybe there'll be a house party afterwards since some bloke was on about having one, I'm not sure. Tbh, I'm not best prepared.
Howmanheyman 33943
I love NY day and night at my local so I always save myself for that. Far, far better than NYE night. about nine years since I was last out on NYE, the days of walking around Walker and Walkergate with a carry oot and going to parties are long, long gone! Tom 14020
I've been invited out for a few beers with the lads and then back to a friends flat near the quayside. I'm not sure if I can be arsed and I don't want to give myself too much of a hangover, financial or physical ahead of going to the Wigan game. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Not a big fan of New Years Eve. Out for a curry with friends tonight, maybe a few drinks but probably in before midnight. Then going out walking with the camera gear in the morning trying to get some nice photies, weather permitting.

I remember one year we were in between hooses in West Denton of aal places and we were outside what was Presto's as the bell turned to 12, fuck knows how we planned that. No one knew the words to Auld Lang Syne, so we ended up singing Howay the lads Howay, for 2 minutes pissed in the freezing cold.
