Aye he's played left wing in both

and it was tuesday...

Not wanting an Internet argument because Im watching Bond, but he ended up playing left back on Tuesday.

Clarke also added this regarding today's team selection....

"I could put Shane back there, which Im a little bit reluctant to do, because his best position is as a wide man but he can play left-back, as he showed the fans what hes about. Its a strong possibility.

Prove it?

They are quite well off for full backs. Not that I give too much of a shite anyway. Can't see him ever starting games for Newcastle on a regular basis.

Clark was also eager to praise the performance of his loanee, Newcastle man Shane Ferguson, who filled in a left-back in the absence of Mitch Hancox. "I've just got to say, even in the first-half when we hadn't been so good, I thought Ferguson was outstanding from start to finish," added Clark.

If he can grab the MOTM after just 2 1/2 matches, even for championship, he's surely something. Love to see him come back as a confident and developed man next season, we are in need of proper wide men for sure, and his position can be reserved for him if he makes a difference for Birmingham. (and if we sell Jonas and Obertan)

Shearer won MoTM when we beat Spurs 4-0 in 03.

Shane Ferguson set up the only goal of the game as his Birmingham side came up against Sammy Ameobi's Middlesbrough

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Shane Ferguson set up the only goal of the game as Birmingham City beat Sammy Ameobi 's Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The close friends came up against each other at the Riverside Stadium and for most of the match it looked as though honours would end even - especially when Ferguson cleared a Jonathan Woodgate header off the line and Jack Butland made a good save from Ameobi.

But Ameobi - who started after being sidelined with a hamstring strain the previous weekend - came off after 77 minutes and four minutes later, Ferguson surged into the box and crossed from the left for Nikola Zigic to bundle the ball home from close range.

His work done, the Northern Ireland international was then replaced by Steven Caldwell for the final seven minutes.
