Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Nothing actually happens when you're offended anyway. You're just, well, offended. Somehow. Not like a years knocked off your life or nothing, ffs. I think those complaining havn't looked at the context with which it was said. It's not like his sketch was a kkk member shouting 'burn the darkies' without any meaning. If people weren't so daft as to not read the full article and actually watch it they'd understand. Instead, it's far easier to just read the juicy edits in The Star alongside an add for escort agencies. If I was Asian or Black Im not sure I would want a ginger Scottish twat courting controversy on my behalf by referring to me as a Nigger or a Paki, whether he is sticking up for me or not. Just proves how horrendous a flop his show is that he's having to resort to these tactics to get press, regardless of the context it was said in, he knew the response it would get. Yup, and he'll be pissing himself laughing at it. Honestly, it's Frankie Boyle, how people can be surprised or shocked is beyond me. Especially the ones who didn't watch it. Same scenario as Ross-Brand gate: More complaints about it than there were actual listeners. Marco Van Basten found it hilarious btw. toughguymick@hotmail.co.uk 0
You dont see John Bishop calling people niggers and pakis. This Boyle is not funny enough to hit the headlines so he makes jokes about dead kids the evil unfunny twat.

This Boyle is not funny enough to hit the headlines so he makes jokes about dead kids the evil unfunny twat. ok, just a few things Boyle's joke wasn't about denigrating Blacks or Asians, it was mocking people like you, who don't listen to a joke, but simply react to the rude words. When was anybody hitting the Headlines for being funny? John Bishop spent a good deal of his Royal Variety Performance taking the piss out of the French, is that ok? Where was your indignation then? You said you knew his writer, surely if you did you'd have understood the joke, or at least known what was coming? You're a liar and a child. Ruler of Planet Houston 1
On the 'paki' part, I don't see anything wrong with referring to Pakistanis as 'pakis'. Pakistan isn't really a race, it's just a country. People say Brits (not englishmen, scotsmen etc..), yanks instead of americans, ozzies instead of australians etc... just cos they aren't white and some of them bomb us it's "racist" to shorten their nationality word???? Bollocks!!!! They need to lighten up and stop looking for things to moan about.

It's used by nuggets as a derogatory term for anyone who looks like they were born within a 1000mile radius of a middle eastern country, regardless of if they are 3rd generation British Asian/ Egyptian or whatever. Ruler of Planet Houston 1
But that's just misjudgement. I have felt quite the tosser when asking a Chinaman (or chinky as I see a fitting abbreviation) about Japan. Just like some yanks can mistake a cockney for an ozzie! Any word can be used in a racist way, but that shouldn't be reason to condemn the use of the word.

Im referring to the above posters view that its OK to call people Paki's as we get called Brits and Americans get called Yanks. Surely even you can see the difference in that you shandy puff? Also Paki is a derogatory term and is only ever used as such, you do get the odd ignorant older person using it out of general ignorance rather than spite though. Mac-Toon 1
Regardless of what you're saying Ruler of the Planet Houston, you just don't refer to people as paki's. If you must refer to them as a whole I believe the collective is 'asian'.
ewerk 30169
The latest Daily Mail furore is over the fact that Matt Lucas and David Walliams have the nerve to portray black and Asian characters in their new show, likening it to the black and white minstrel show. I'd be more concerned with the fact that it's criminally unfunny.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
I used to work with some asian lads and they used to refer to asian scuffers as 'pakis' in the same way that we might call white scuffers chavs.

Happy Face 29
When talking about this in the past didn't we agree it's all about context? Like "cunt". Perfectly valid word to be used on a Newcastle discussion board about Louise Taylor's latest article....not so welcome in the eulogy of your nanna's funeral. ...and "chinky" isn't short for chinese at all, it's the same number of syllables and if you were to use a less formal alternative, that would surely be "chinny" or "chiney". Chinky is down to the fact they have slitty eyes that only let a chink of light in. Very offensive.

Meenzer 15353
That'd be like going into a bar you know to be largely populated by black people then complaining on the internet afterwards about how black they all were.
