acrossthepond 866
I think Villa are a classic example of a club punching above their means because of a better-than-par manager and good backing from the owner, but they're about to come down to earth. Houllier isn't a patch on MON and Lerner must be wondering how much of his money he's going to end up blowing in January bringing in his new players (probably going to be shite or past it like Pires). I think they will return to the nothing they came from very promptly and it won't be a moment too soon. Boring brummie wankers and that disgraceful carry-on two years ago has earned them my hatred for all time. Wouldn't touch Carew either. What do we need another useless donkey for? We've already got Shola. This side is crying out for a speedy striker to play alongside Carroll (and by speedy striker I mean someone who actually has footballing attributes, not just another shit pace merchant like Martins). Anorthernsoul 1221
We need another striker, Carew isn't the answer though. Pace is what is required.
snakehips 0
My back fence collapsed a while ago. I'm sure I still have one of the rotten posts lying around. I could sell that to the fat gambler. Cheaper by far, but just as effective.

Barney 0
Regarding Pires signing for Villa, I reckon that was Houllier just signing a dressing room ally. Iirc, he signed a French lad(Ferrier?) at Anfield and he was hopeless, but he was fluent in English and never let on to the other players.
