henda11 0
I was talking to my mate who is a journalist for NUFC.co.uk, and he has told me that there is talk around the training ground about John Carew possibly coming in on loan in Janaury. What do you reckon?.
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Better than anyone else we have up front other than Carroll.
Holden McGroin 6451
I reckon he would fill in for Carroll if he gets injured/suspended. I wouldnt start him.
henda11 0
I reckon he would fill in for Carroll if he gets injured/suspended. I wouldnt start him. Was just reading there about David Wheater. Only going to cost around 1.5m from Boro. Would he be worth ago?, as he is quite promising, but i hate his face, and the fact his dad keeps his bank card so he doesn't spend his own wages. Matt 0
I thought he would be a cracking loan a few months ago but he's looked awful in recent games. That may be simply down to playing under his nemesis Houllier, or his legs may have finally gone.

Monroe Transfer 0
I see Hugo Almeida is joining Besiktas for less than £2m. Not sure how well he'd do in this league though with that said, had we ever been in for him.
Ayatollah Hermione 13760
There's videos of David Wheater breaking blocks of ice with his face so signing him would give the team an interesting party piece at least.
Howmanheyman 32596
Every time I see Wheater he always reminds of another young local Boro lad, namely Jamie Pollock. I'm sure their training acadamy involves them beating up the kids then throwing them into darkened kennels for days without food before chucking a steak in and seeing which kid comes out on top before leading him out the kennel and telling him to run face first into a brick wall. Would definitely explain Pollock's features, genuinely a face of a bulldog licking piss from a particularly strong nettle.

They call it Nursery I always remember an oldish bloke coming up to a window with a couple of young kids as our bus drove past their house in Middlesbrough, they had manky net curtains in a scruffy window, the bloke had a can in his hand and the kids just had knickers and vests on with tomato sauce stains on the vests, (least I fucking hope they were tomato sauce stains!!). They all, kids included, gave us the V's and wanking gestures, this was about 1989.

Gejon 2
Decent signing imo, as others have said he is better than the other options (although I would be tempted to throw Ranger in and let him develop).

Mac-Toon 1
I think it's time we saw what Ranger's made of now. He looked better than Carroll a couple of year back and seemed to fade away. He always has the opposition looking scared when coming on. Gotta be better than Shola. Fuck all that 'better the devil you know' shite. I reckon Carroll Ranger partnership's got goals written all over it. Carew's passed it. Decent link up play but not what we need at this stage. Leon Best is a non runner, get him sold or loaned out in January.

OTF 7214
Carew's not bad but I would have thought we'd learnt not to sign any old strikers/players with their best years behind them who probably don't give a hoot about the team they play for. Plus, he can't take penalties .

Mac-Toon 1
Heard the one about the player who falls out with his boss, claims he can’t play because he’s snowed in and then declares himself unfit when he does finally turn up? John Carew is the player in question and his excuse for not getting back in time for the Christmas programme, then ruling himself out upon his return, sums up what Gerard Houllier is up against at Aston Villa. “Carew said he was stuck in snow in Norway,” said Houllier, with a hint of disbelief in his voice. As excuses go, it’s up there with ‘the dog ate my homework’ in terms of plausibility. Houllier is a decent man and a decent coach. His successful record at Liverpool, Lyon and latterly as technical director of the French Football Federation are testimony to his knowledge, talent and experience. But the urbane Frenchman looks to have made a huge error of judgement in returning to the Premier League to manage Villa, given their dramatic slide under him following his appointment as Martin O’Neill’s successor. This time last year, under O’Neill, Villa were in fourth with 35 points and eyeing a Champions League spot. Now they are in 15th, on 20 points, with little sign of them escaping the battle for top flight survival. So who’s to blame? O’Neill was said to have lost the dressing-room and quit on the eve of the campaign at the height of an ongoing dispute with chairman Randy Lerner over a lack of funds to take his squad to the next level. Now Houllier, too, looks to have lost the faith of some of his players, his bust-ups with senior ones like Carew, Richard Dunne and Stephen Ireland confirming the feeling of a club in crisis. Birmingham City fans, revelling in Villa’s decline, taunted their rivals by chanting “You’ll get Sam Allardyce” – the message tongue in cheek. Yet Big Sam, for all his perceived limitations, would surely be an improvement on Houllier, who does not deserve to have his record blighted by an ill-fated decision to return to the Premier League
Guest You FCB Get Out Of Our Club
He's shite. I remember when he was at Valencia he was shite there, he scored against Arsenal and put them out the CL, apart from that he just looked like a donkey and that was one of his more famous games. He's huffy has a touch worse than Shola on a lazy day, should win everything in the air but doesn't, just a lazy version of Harewood in my opinion. LeazesMag 0
makes me smile a lot, seeing O'Neill quitting a club - again - yet his friends in the media and fleet street never bring this up yet are happy to talk about Keegan whenever they get the chance. Said to a Celtic supporter who I used to work with a while back [who said Keegan was a quitter], O'Neill would never put a side together as good as the one Keegan did here for as long as he had a hole in his arse. Mac-Toon 1
If ever there was a case for a player 'making it' due to a physical attribute he is it. Always referred to as 'Big John Carew' (By anyone idiotic, btw) yet he's smaller when he jumps for a header than he is stood still. Hopefully this behaviour at Villa will put off any prospective buyer, namely us.
