Christmas Tree 4851
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-u...72703-27869292/ BULLISH Alan Pardew insists Newcastle United are planning for the long-term and will not cash in on their star men in January. United’s new boss was quick to dismiss reports that Joey Barton is up for sale in the next transfer window, and says that he has received assurances that none of their best performers will be moved on in January. That includes Andy Carroll – linked with Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal – as well as Jose Enrique and Steven Taylor, who could be edging closer to signing a new deal. Barton and Enrique are among a number of players with deals that run out in 18 months and Pardew would like to see negotiations begin with all of them. “I want Joey to stay, it’s as simple as that as far as I’m concerned,” he said. “There’s obviously going to be clubs interested in him because he’s done so well. But from the DVDs I’ve watched of Newcastle games, you can see how important he is to us. I want him to stay. “And that goes for all the other players, like Andy (Carroll), who have been linked with other clubs as well. They are not going. “We want them to stay here, and that is something that we’re working towards with players who are vulnerable with their contract situations.” Pardew’s confidence that none of Newcastle’s crown jewels will be flogged is partly down to the attitude of the players themselves, who do not appear to be seeking an escape route from St James’ Park despite Chris Hughton’s sacking. The new boss has had meetings with most of his new charges and says none have expressed a desire to move on, including fringe men like Alan Smith and Leon Best. “Of course, you can never say 100% that a player definitely, definitely isn’t going anywhere. “Sometimes it is 50% down to the player, whether they want to stay. “And part of the reason that I’m confident is that I’ve had conversations with all of the players now and not one wants to leave.” Pardew’s thoughts are now trained on bringing players in – although he says there are no deals being worked on at the moment. “I have not made one enquiry for a player,” Pardew said. “At the moment we’re looking at a lot of players. I’ve been catching up with my chief scout and discussing players, and we know that the window is coming up very fast. “But you have to keep an open mind because you never know what is going to happen during the window. “All sorts of players might become available.” Ave it. Gone in the summer then Depends, Llambias's view of "best performers" probably doesnt match the rest of us. In fact knowing Dekka it will probably be based on who performs best in the annual players Panto. "Leon Best is going nowhere, did you hear how he hit that high note in the chorus? stunning absolute star"

Christmas Tree 4851
What he is basically saying is no fucker worth their salt is going nowhere. He is also aware that "we" love signings and would rather we didnt get our hopes up about any incomings. If something decent comes up then treat it as a nice suprise. Christmas Tree 4851
What he is basically saying is no fucker worth their salt is going nowhere. In January I have no problem with the upgrading of players if its in the interest of the club, as KK did with Cole and I havent seen anything in the last year / 18 months that suggest we are about to become a selling club. It looks to me like progress built on solid foundations.

Asprilla 96
One good thing is that you can be fairly sure that whatever he says is what they want him to say at least. We certainly don't want to lose any of our key players, a good loan striker like Keane and I'd be happy this window.
