bawan 0
On his way out of Inter. I think he might end up at City I hear they are trying to push him out the door without any compo, can they do that?

Billy Castell 0
Breaking News on SSN: Allardyce is settling down by the phone with an Irish coffee, waiting for Mr. Moratti to call. Obviously I'm making it up. Sam would be using one of those bluetooth headsets.

ewerk 31211
I did have to laugh at his 'back me or sack me' demand after beating some team from Bongo Bongo land to win a tin pot trophy.
Billy Castell 0
Is it official then? There has been a bit of confusion with conflicting reports recently. Have to see Sam's odds, if/when it happens.

PaddockLad 17661
According to an Italian journo on 5live earlier he was promised money for new players in the summer...the money wasnt forthcoming for January either and he found out via an interview Moratti gave to the press....so he goes and wins the world club championship at the weekend and thinks he's now in a posistion of strength to start shouting the odds about getting new players in....wrong again Rafa! Billy Castell 0
I think Venky's will offer a fat wedge in the summer for him to fuck up Blackburn. I doubt he'll come, but he's a 'big name' they think will bring success. News is that Steve Kean is manager until the summer at least.
OTF 7492
Just on Allardyce, it's refreshing to know that this Indian Chicken group seem to have as little idea about things as our owners do. To sack him when they're in a relatively strong position in the league for the squad that they have, only to replace him with a first team coach in Steve Kean who is talking about 5 million pounds as though it is a large amount. At least when Ashley sacked Allardyce he had Kevin Keegan lined up (admittedly that was a compromised role that Keegan took). They clearly had no-one pencilled in for the job and so have settled for a yes-man style appointment. The insinuation from that is that the footballing side of affairs will be controlled from the top by a bunch of people who have little idea about the game, let alone the intricacies of the Premier League. The pressure will be heaped on Kean who will just be a glorified trainer/coach operating under the illusion that he's manager. Oh, and Rafa is funny. You seem to have sussed out the general perception of events. However, the next manager, as well as Kean are in a similar position to Keegan. For Llambias and Wise, read Jerome Anderson and Kentaro. Mrs. Desari, the big boss of the whole organisation had no understanding of football whatsoever, and the same goes for the Rao brothers who are the public faces of Venky's UK or whatever the British branch is called. Hence the presence of Kentaro and Jerome Anderson as advisors. The £5m may be a smokescreen so any players we're after don't get a Man City style inflation over fees. Or they really do know nothing. Time will tell. Oh, and I had thought that Rafa is a very over rated manager.
acrossthepond 878
Rafa's lost the plot completely over the last 6-7 months. I doubt there'll be another big club who want anything to do with him and his mystic mutterings of priests and white liquids. Stark raving. Billy Castell 0
Or like Sven, managing random African and Asian countries for a fat wedge of cash, before settling for some mediocre club career. Then finally managing a team in some oil-rich backwater called Al-Igater or Dinamo Turnip.
