Monroe Transfer 0
Desperately need another half-decent striker to play alongside Carroll, or to cover him in case of injury.
ChezGiven 0
Are we forgetting that Ashley owns the club btw? Anyone expecting us to sign Man City players who are on 90kpw are mental Dont want them tbf. Dont want to go back to having the Vidukas, Owens etc Yep, Id hate us to be aspirational. What's aspirational about paying ridiculous wages to players who get you relegated? Its not about that, you cant permanently look at big name signings and ignore them because we've had a couple of bad ones in the past! Owen was the biggest waste of money ever but he cost a fraction of Shearer, was he a waste? Works for Spurs and we are on the same financial planet as them. So i can take the example of those two and use it to virtually prove the point. I dont understand the wording of the question re: Shearer. However, if the club experiences the sort of revenue and value growth seen in the mid 90's that took it from being a £3m club to floating as a £200m club in the space of a few years, then yes spend £20m or more on a striker. Worth the risk in those circumstances. Make sure you keep an eye out for them returning. Did you get my pm yesterday btw?
Mac-Toon 1
If whoever found Tiote and Ben Arfa can do likewise in January I'd be more than pleased. Jason from LA Galaxy would be welcomed and would play ahead of Jonas. Maybe cover at left back but god knows who.
Monroe Transfer 0
Why are you talking about Ben Arfa as if he was some unknown?
Christmas Tree 4852
Why are you talking about Ben Arfa as if he was some unknown? Its not a case of him being unknown, its a case of doing the deal.
Mac-Toon 1
He wasn't exactly drawing attention from other clubs for the standard he is, was he? That's what I meant for him. I'll be honest on Tiote, I'd never seen him play or heard a great deal about him.

Kitman 2207
I think the club will be very reluctant to spend anything at all on transfers. I'd be surprised if anybody was bought or sold in Jan unless we got an offer that's too good to refuse from a club in Europe on a shopping spree. I could see us bringing in a loan signing however, a striker like Keane makes sense.
Mac-Toon 1
I'd take money on Guthrie, Smith and Jonas if we can get Gosling and Ben Arfa fit and signed up. If not only to get them off the wage bill. I definitely think we need another left sider to cover for Jonas. He hasn't looked interested for a while now. Don't know anyone available like. We'll probably end up with Ali Dia making a come back under the recommendation of Aspers.
Christmas Tree 4852
Think it will be a decent window for us and dont expect any of our big guns to go anywhere. Recent windows have pointed to improving not weakening the squad.
SloopJohn 0
tbh we should go out guns blazing for Charlie Adam, absolutely quality in center mid, him and Tiote would run be fantastic then ship Smith off to Blackburn
sandman02uk 0
Jonas has looked disinterested for awhile now, get shot if possible arfa on a perm and a new striker, although i thought ranger looked useful against the bin dippers, someone quick to run onto the flick ons from carroll
