always nice to see a few pigs getting fucked up, but you students thinking you have some divine right to 3rd level education need to get a clue, way too many thick fuckers with pointless degrees at this point

those of us lucky enough to get in on the cheap, should have been forced to pay more, and think harder about going

See when I read that, I think "wanker".

Why do you think police always deserve violence towards them? imo the only people who have an issue with the police are those who have an issue with law.

I do though agree with your sentiment about students. Hardly the way to gain support is it?

Chances are the coppers will have been giving it the iron fist bullshit and fully deserved it. Everyone knows exactly what half of the cunts are like.

I'm afraid I agree

I agree that they can be twats when provoked and often heavy handed with no reason. But why provoke them? Why attack cars? In particular one carrying the heir to the throne

Fucking hell, seems to me its just as well if half of that crowd cant afford to be educated further, seems a lost hope.

I lived in Finland for a while not long ago, all education is completely free to anyone from the eu for all levels, primary, secondary, third and masters etc. I can understand their protests, obviously violence only does their own cause harm but still, the anti-student sentiment is a bit much, I think the UK has the highest fees in the eu currently, I might be wrong there.

The changes will give us the highest fees for public universities in the industrialised world

it costs $25000/year in the states to go to a reputable institution.

True, but that's for the private universities which can charge whatever they want. Average tuition costs at a public university in the states (I admit often not as good) are around $7,000 per year.

We only have one private university in this country, the University of Buckingham.

If by that you mean I've never been done for anything, then you'd be right (speeding offenses aside). If by that you mean I'm gay, sorry to disappoint.

I'd be interested to know if anyone on here would have decided not to go to uni if they were faced with the new fees.

I would definitely not be going to Uni if I had to pay the new fees, I've got more than enough debt from when the fees were lower! I can't even contemplate how much worse it will be for people wanting to go now.

and your happy-go-lucky speeding is a lot more dangerous to the poor sweet children you're endangering compared to me taking some illicit (and harmless to others) substance. not so long ago being homosexual was a criminal offence, so it was obviously ok to persecute them, right?

still, as long as you're on the right side of the law, everything must be ok. iconboots.gif

Ah now I said fuck all being wrong with taking any substance? wrong end of the law maybe but imo harmless to others. Note I said I'd never been done for owt, not that I'd never crossed the line myself :D

I dont get the police hate though.

Also, yes I do speed when driving, but only on motorways. Thats another long conversation though.

you suggested that only criminals should have a problem with the police, seeing as we are both criminals (as are most people in some way) that seems a strange place to argue from, so that's why I brought up drugs (easy example to relate to for most).

I don't like violent criminals, they should be harshly punished, but the police are an instrument for the very people who have a monopoly on "legitimate" violence. they don't make the laws, and it's not their fault they are ill equipped for the power they are given, so it's hard to blame them for that.

the problem is the job turns the vast majority of them into arseholes, and the buck has to stop somewhere. so I don't shed tears given most of them probably deserve a good kicking anyway.

Only criminals generally should. Not every criminal might. I certainly dont. Like you, the types of criminal I detest are those that are violent/violate and thieves. But

always nice to see a few pigs getting fucked up,
I certainly cant agree with. Sure, some might deserve it when they take the piss and get heavy handed. But as a generalisation?

well now we're just getting into maths. if given the option to shoot 9 paedos and an innocent man or let them walk, I don't think many would, but 999,999 paedos and an innocent man I think a lot more pull the trigger (of a considerably larger gun!)

also obviously when someone makes a statement like I did, it comes from a place of emotion, not logic. if you gave me a baton and a cop and the opportunity to batter him with no recourse, would I take it? of course not, but as a generalisation I admit that I don't like them. I am prejudiced.
