The Twitter Thread

Have to admit I do agree with you ChezGiven. It does seem very difficult at times to give a personal opinion on topics without getting shot down told you a fucking idiot lol. With that I tend to just read threads instead of posting. I'm all for Twitter rumours being posted also, any NUFC transfer news is always interesting.

my Dad rang me last night and said he'd heard we were in for Crouch.

I hung up on the bastard straight away and have blocked his number and stopped his allowance, rumour spreading cunt.

How about we just have one transfer rumours thread that covers twitter, tabloids, inter webs etc. If people post rumours in other threads then the mods delete them. If you find the rumours tiresome you can just avoid that thread.

Excellent idea, Should be a mod Kitman.

Indeed an excellent idea. Perhaps you should stick to that ideology you mahoosive tit. It'll have floated over your spam but I moved at least half a dozen of your posts last night into the correct threads.

As for your comments re: Twitter, I'll again ask you to get your facts straight. You're a fucking million miles off.

I also agree with what Chez has said, what I do think however is that when someone on twitter is 'unmasked' as a blatant bullshitter they should no longer be given the attention they crave. People who haven't come across said wankers before will only get their hopes up and as I have said before, I think the wankers are most likely mackems having a little giggle at every Newcastle fan that shows excitement at their shite.

We'll no doubt be batted back with "well they got this one right..." or something of that ilk.

Especially if the one they 'got right' has been reported in the media for weeks before hand.

I'll give it a crack, we will sign Taylor and Erdnic before the transfer window ends, I have a mate high up in NUFC, I can't say who but he is a trusted source and has no reason to lie.

Lets see if I can be ITK too :o

the Twitter posts are obviously silly yet harmless — but the “I’m better, more valid than you” egos on this board are a lot more nauseating.

Like who? Too ambiguous mate, if you're going to say that NAME NAMES.

Maybe if you weren't such an obnoxious prick, we wouldn't be discussing it.

Asking Mods to ban me because one post out of 50 is about a twitter itk is being a prick and thats you not me.

tbf its the other 49 posts that pee me off. :o

opps there I go again, team spiteful

Agree with CT and PaddockLad. I have not once adversely reacted to weak rumours being posted on to this or any other forum. I do however react badly to the sort of chat in this thread.

Its bascially ok to be Kevin or Deadman and be stupid but the minute you have a diametrically opposed view, all hell kicks off. I dont want to sound patronising but i'm going to be anyway, when you get to a certain age you learn how to deal with a wide variety of perspectives on the world that can make no sense to you at all. Everyone likes to have their view of the world validated and someone who doesnt 'get it' is annoying, of course. You do grow out of that though.

What bemused me most recently was the absolute paucity of discussion around Ba, Cabaye, Merveaux and players like Erding who are clearly on the radar. Plenty of shite about Nolan (which is fair, the captain was sold) and Ashley but very little on the positive things that have happened and the implication for the footballing side of things. We've signed some players but you look like a dick if you post a formation including these players apparently. As i say though, everyone just wants their world view vaildated and to pounce upon any opportunity to denigrate posters they dont like, however slight the inaccuracy or difference in point of view.

I quite like twitter rumours being posted on here fwiw but as Kitman says, it would be better if they were kept in the thread dedicated to this.

I would hope that my posts in reply to you and many others (CT excluded) do not come across that way, generally I only post when I have a view and opinion on something. If I disagree its not generally for the sake of disagreeing its because I have (in your words) a diametrically opposed view (whatever the hell that means!) and usually Id back that up with reasoning.

This is a message board, its there for all thoughts, views and opinions no matter how much one person disagrees with something posted, thats all it is, a post. If its total crap then it will merely make the poster look stupid. If it sparks debate then job done.

The repeating of rumours however when its clear that they're total crap merely exasperates an already stupid situation. I still believe that many of those who follow the likes of Colin Warr and toontastic1892 (whos name pees me off immensely) arent people desperate for some hope but people desperate to look ITK themselves, they follow these people, repeat their rubbish, passing it off as their own which then happens with some of their followers...repeat to fade. Posting it on here, N-O, skunkers, etc merely moves the crap to another area of the internet and spreads it even further.

I realise I've basically come off like a cunt in this but it doesn't matter what happens, tomorrow night he's going to be posting "Erdinc deal fell through" credited to some Twitter knacker anyway because he knows it's going to get a bite of cunts like me.

tbf i thought you were one before this like :o

I used to like reading rumours but the shite that I read on twitter that is then repeated on here is doing my nut in. Especially when it is posted on here in some kinda of factual form. More so when people post it on here knowing full well the source is a dodgy one. I'm not sure why someone would want to mislead another poster this way? Like when CT posts stuff that "Colin" has posted on Twitter, on here as ITK stuff. We all know "Colin" on twitter is a chancer, we all know its bollocks, so why post it on here stating the source is ITK? Why not say the source is a dodgy one off twitter not a decent one? If I post something like that I would say who the source was, then each individual can make up his or her own mind.

Posting ITK stuff has very quickly become some sort of self ego boost for the poster when to everyone else it's very much twatfull imo.

I'm not going to complain about the quality of posts on here, as I'm not exactly the most prolific of posters. But I post less the more shite that's on here.

People just need to stop the ego trips, chill the fuck out and try and have at least half decent conversations about stuff.

Pretty much sums it up in a nut shell. There's times in the past when I've posted something reported in the press (not on twitter) and given a line of something along the lines of "Shite source so likely to be bollocks but...". I remember one not too long ago when a certain taxi driver took the piss out of me for posting a link from the Daily Mail yet I didn't bite about it.

But I post less the more shite that's on here.

And if CT's source had got his facts straight he'd realise that's more or less exactly the comment I posted on twitter last night which resulted in his epic meltdown during the night.

The lack of comments on incoming players is a direct result of the vast majority of us not having a fucking clue as to who they are or how good they'll be. What are we supposed to say? If you read N-O, the threads are full of people who know everything :o about the players coming in, followed by team selections and formations, when it's beyond reasonable doubt that they [the posters] know only a digit more than I do aobut them, which is virtually nil. Even Ba, who most of us have seen once or twice, is an unknown quantity, so what are we supposed to say??? Again, on N-O, if a post is made from Twatter saying 'player Z (player Y is off to Arsenal my ITK tells me) is on the way here', a host of folk perk up with hard-ons as that is the very information they want to hear, regardless of the fact the information from twatter is complete bullshit.

Unless we know for certain a purchase is a good/bad one, there is little we can comment on imo. Speculation is tedious, but that is only personal. We can comment a bit, but endless tattle is not called for. To dissect their performances when they play is what counts, not what could happen.

Again, the threads/comments about LardAsh's spending is about right at the moment. Only time will tell if he has been astute or a stingy shyster.

**Beep Beep Beep** :)

Sorry but that's a load of bollocks about twitter on N-O, people are as much fed up of it over there as they are here and a thread (like the one suggested on here) was set up to try and keep the bullshit out of 'serious' threads.

I also don't see what's wrong with discussing potential line ups and new signings from the little you have seen of them in close season, especially when the only football on is the Women's world cup which from the games I have watched has even managed to lose a lot of the fit ones. If you aren't going to discuss things that you admittedly don't have a great deal of knowledge on the forums you may aswell close for the off season
