Anorthernsoul 1221
And I love it how you completely dismissed the atrocity that was last season, which in essence proved the glass like nature of the squad after it very nearly reached self implosion after the extra games in the Europa. Dr Gloom 21868
You mean like we were doing in December when we were 6 points off top after 18 games or like two seasons back when we finished fifth? right, exactly up to the point where we sold our best player without replacing him
Christmas Tree 4713
We've never had the squad to compete with the top 4 and won't for many years now, we've always been an injury or two away from mediocrity under Pardew. And then we sold the catalyst of that good run without even the feeblest of attempts to replace him, leaving a massive crater in an already fragile squad/dressing room. Great logic, why do you always feel the need to defend this regime? It's like being controversial fills a massive void in your cyber world. I simply have issue with the gulf in reality portrayed on here at times. Yes there's lots wrong at the club and yes not many owners, here or elsewhere, are going to throw in the 100's of millions that would realistically be needed to make us a regular top four club. But "dream the dream" ffs! People on here love facts. The fact was in December we were 6 points off the top after 18 games. Is it Ashleys or Pardews fault that a striking player got his move? Certainly the squad quality is not Pardews fault. Similarly is it Pardews fault that Cisse can't hit a barn door, Ben Arfa loses the plot or that some of the other big players have been shit? Sure we can guess that new manager x would have solved everything but we've played that tune many times without success. Since December it's been shit, for many reasons, but before that it was a good result from games played.

Since December it's been shit, for many reasons, but before that it was a good result from games played. whose fault was it that cabaye wasn't replaced - not even with a loan signing? it's no co-incidence that the halt to our pre-christmas momentum can be traced back to the sale of cabaye. that lack of ambition filters down to the players. if the man at the top doesn't give a shit, why should they? though the rate of the decline is alarming, probably even more so than most of us feared. so pardew has to take his share of the blame too. it's mainly ashley's fault, but pardew overseeing this run of results, and more damningly the number of goals conceded, the lack of goals scored and abject nature of the performances, means he has to carry the can too. ashley out pardew out
Dr Gloom 21868
I'm not for one moment trying to excuse the players for giving up but the men charged with motivating them clearly aren't up to it.

essembeeofsunderland 811
Pardew will continue to blame everything and everyone except Ashley. We cannot do anything about it other than not turn up.We think he has accepted all incoming transfers so he has to accept he cannot currently motivate our lazy piss taking `footballers' so unless he replaces the majority of them,he should wave us bye bye and we should then go for the wolly with the brolly. I don't think I would care if I went from 800, to 10,000 for a season, if I were him. Especially if it returned to, say, 1000 after the protest? He'd get a season of incredible gates, grossly inflated matchday revenue and potentially some new fans.
