trooper 940
Well it came to something yesterday when the media deemed Pardews incident on a par with the Russia/Ukraine story and the mass stabbing at the Chinese railway station.
Asprilla 96
Never mind the corruption of the oil industry... starting wars, destroying the environment, stifling alternatives and bankrolling teams and world cups. The brown envelopes, the racism, the homophobia. The endless misery caused by the global bank that sponsors the league. Â No, what's really going to fuck our kids up is a man using his fringe to almost bruise another man.

Happy Face 29
Been going round the world to see how it's being covered elsewhere.  So while Jeff Stelling would say....  https://vine.co/v/MKxu7KTMlqe  Japan Today report more soberly that...  "Pardew was sent to the stands after inclining his head towards Meyler during a second-half touchline confrontation" http://www.japantoday.com/category/sports/view/chelsea-pull-clear-pardew-sent-off-for-headbutt   USA today says...  "Alan Pardew was sent to the stands after he appeared to headbutt Hull City midfielder David Meyler"  No hyperbole there. What it does call "amazing" is Stelling's reaction...which it links to as a video.  http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/03/newcastle-pardew-headbutt-hull/  The headbutt was a disgrace. But it pales into insignificance compared to dozens of other on pitch assaults. As bad as Canona's Kung Fu kick? No. As bad a Suarez getting all bitey? Course not. Barton's elbowy, kicky, headbutt at Man City? Nowhere near. Di Canio taking down a referee, or Prutton...Ben Thatcher's elbow or Roy Keane's career ender.  Pardew's a manager and will be held to higher standards. As he should. But the desperation of our local media to sensationalise is pathetic.
essembeeofsunderland 811
Excellent comparisons which don't compare to be honest.Pardew has made many enemies in the media.
Christmas Tree 4725
That all said, what should have been a brilliant weekend of football has been completely spoilt by Pardew. Apart from the little matter of selecting a team and tactics to thrash Hull 4-1 away. Non?
Happy Face 29
Â You're trying to start an argument against one of Pardew's staunchest defenders on here now. Â He's not being harsh on the dipshit. Pardew's own weekend was probably ruined as much as anyone else's.

ChezGiven 0
Cant defend Pardew for this but i think its very fair to highlight the hypocrisy of cunts like Savage and Souness and to generally denounce anyone taking the moral high ground.

But the desperation of our local media to sensationalise is pathetic. Good post that, motd and soccer Saturdays reactions were both absolutely ridiculous but since they're what the FA seem to watch rather than actual incidents he's going to get a very long ban.  Am I the only one who just thought this was quite funny? essembeeofsunderland 811
If MOTD had not highlighted the incident would the FA be involved.Do the FA watch the full 90 mins of every game before acting or only televised games, because i am not aware of any action being taken against any club or player unless the incidents have been shown on tv. Andrew 4748
A quick check of a few sites football pages shows  3 seperate stories on the BBC football site  4 on sky sports football  And 1 on the guardian.  Unsurprisingly Sky and BBC going very ott on this one, actual news outlet making it, correctly, one story rather than numerous sensationalist opinion pieces from people like Alan Smith.  I wonder what Gareth crooks thinks about all this, expect to see meyler in his team of the week do he can have his say

Toonpack 9404
He could be fecked, no doubt the club had a chat with their lawyers about what they could do and came up with the formal warning and fine, I suspect if the FA ban him for a long period, especially if that includes a stadium ban, that could make his position untenable although I'm not sure how any further punishment from the club would play with employment law given it's the one offence. Kid Dynamite 7027
A 10 match stadium ban makes bot all difference. He can pick the team and do the team talk on the bus. Carver can make the subs. Do people really think Pardew screaming from the touch line makes one jot of difference as to how the players perform on the pitch? Anorthernsoul 1221
To be fair, with his track record of poor half time team talks, a stadium ban will be a bonus.
Toonpack 9404
employment law If you want to sack someone, and avoid paying up their contract as in a normal football manager firing, you'd better be onside with employment law
