Happy Face 29
They've made a song and dance about promotion from within. Which backroom staff are left at the club? Steve Stone Peter Beardsley Joe Joyce Willie Donachie
David Kelly 1217
He is doing it on purpose to piss us off. That is the only logical answer now! We need someone else with more experience to take us forward? We're eleventh with a squad barely strengthened at all. Fucking Mourinho or Fergusson would struggle to do any better with what we have! manc-mag 1
Thank you for giving us promotion and a fighting chance of staying up, Chris. We'd have had neither without you. True gent. Whoever you go on to manage you'll always be welcomed when you bring them to SJP (and that applies however much you quite rightly choose to slag the club in the days/years to come. Absolute and utter disgrace.

TicTacWoe 0
what's shocking is how un-shocking it is relatively speaking for something like this to happen at Newcastle (especially under MA)

Guest WDP
I thought the aim and the official party line was we'd be happy with 17th. We've exceeded that so far with some good displays, we'll have most the first team back in the next month and this fuckin happens. Right at the time when we have 5 or 6 games that are going to be rocky, there's no easy game till New Year so what does stupid cunt do? Fuckin rocks the boat. Not us fans, but the football club itself in terms of our owners and strategists, deserve relegation. They deserve to be relegated, this is criminal what's happened today. Monroe Transfer 0
One of the most pathetic things about this utter debacle is that they haven't apparently got anyone lined up. So now we'll have to deal with the circus that always occurs when manager-less clubs start looking for new managers. It'll kill the spirit we had, and it'll drag on and lose us games. The players won't have wanted him out, and the fans clearly don't. Terribly depressing for all concerned.
shackbleep 0
Just when Ashley & co. seem to be starting to get things right, they up and play their trump card and remind us we shouldn't fucking trust him with a barge pole. Chris Hughton did a fantastic job turning this club around from a god awful mess. What's more, he's done it with barely (comparitively) a penny going into his pocket nor a moan about it. And surprise, surprise they sack him just as his paultry contract is drawing to a close so they don't have to fork out compensation either. What's even more gauling is that Alex's suggestion that he'd be fired before christmas appears to be bang on! Nailed on to be Martin O'Neill - especially as he was allegedly a guest of the club at the last home game...?
sweetleftpeg 0
A gentleman who did superb under a piss poor board and owner. If he has been sacked standing up for himself then he just goes up even further in my estimations.

I was being genuine when I said it but pictured us in the and around the bottom three by now. Totally bemused that this should happen now. This season was always going to be (at best) a oe of ups and downs. What the fuck was Ashley expecting with the squad we have?

Christmas Tree 4676
Suppose at some point there will be speculation about what was going on behind the scenes. Were players picking the team? Does Nolan have too much say? Had infighting broken out following Chris's weekend comments that it was him picking the team? Was this taken onto the pitch, hence the shitty display? Who shot cock robin?
