Would beautifully sum up the sheer bad luck of Mike Ashley and the torture of being a newcastle fan, if indeed the Martin Jol resignation is pure coincidence.

This time yesterday we were all resigned to Pardew

Today we are happy to settle for Jol

And all along its never been anyone else but Pardew.

You want to lay off that optimism for a while.

Latest ITK is Nolan and Barton are actually injured. Pedro is only taking training and the new bloke will be in situ by Thursday or Friday at the latest. That's the plan anyway.

Do you think the plan was in place before the sacking?

Certainly appears that way.

If it is Pardew, that's a worry, to say the fucking least. Perhaps even more worrying is that I doubt he'd be allowed to bring in much of a backroom staff given the penny pinching going on at the club. Him with a skeleton support staff hardly bears thinking about.

expect old times back at St James as well. Lots of unrest, players briefing the press. Whoever follows nice bloke Chris will be a lot stricter.

Comfy training suddenly becomes boot camp.

All those weird training injuries will be back.

Are you suggesting they won't play for Pardew? :drinks:

CT is like the message board equivalent of the dog off Garfield.

Had to head for wiki.....

Odie is, to Garfield, a complete slobbering idiot, but there may be more under the idiotic surface
:drinks:

Ashley keeps lobbing turds, you go pelting after them and keep coming back covered in brown stuff. But next time he lobs a turd....tongue out, dopey look on your face.."Ooo goody, I bet THIS TIME it's a stick". TURD FACE!

Jol not Newcastle's No.1 target as Pardew rumours harden

Simon Bird

Martin Jol's hopes of becoming the next Newcastle manager have taken a blow - with the club's next boss already lined up for a swift coronation.

The Geordies hope to have their new manager in place to take training before Saturday's clash with Liverpool.

Jol's departure from Ajax took Newcastle by surprise and it was not part of the machinations which saw Chris Hughton sacked as boss yesterday afternoon.

Jol is reported in Holland to be a candidate to take over at Hamburg, and said last night that he quit the Dutch giants because he couldn't deliver on the expectations of the club in the circumstances he found himself in.

Out-of-work Alan Pardew has once again become firm bookies favourite to take charge.

While Pardew has experience of leading West Ham to two cup finals and of three promotions, for many he doesn't fit the bill of the "big name figurehead" that Newcastle want to put in charge.

However Pardew will be spoken to imminently and is said to be confident of being handed a chance at St James's Park

So The good news.........., there was a plan.
