Apple and Microsoft products sharing the same wireless connection

Are there any problems with this? Just bought an iMac and connected no problem to my wireless network and my iPhone connects as normal but my laptop which is Microsoft software is showing it's connecting as normal but once the homepage loads and I go to access another site it brings the the message saying Internet explorer has stopped working despite still showing I'm connected.

 

Is there an known issue between the 2 products using the same network or is it more likely to be a unrelated issue with the laptop?

That wouldn't stop the browser working you just wouldnt be able to connect.

I'm not sure that would cause it to crash or have any real adverse effects.

I was thinking it might have been a poorly written addon installed. He is an Apple user

 

IE9 is out in beta, so as you suggested upgrading/changing browsers is the best option;
