No Anais Mitchell on either list is a crying shame as its comfortably top three for me. Really like John Grant though.

Did you see her at the Cluny?

No I missed that she was there, would have liked to have seen her.

Other big misses on those lists for men are Delorean, Bononbo, Dom, Charlote Gainsbourg, Panther Du Prince, Beach House Jonsi, The Fall and Future Islands

no four tet.... hmmn i'm not gonna take these lists too seriously then.

Aye I was going to mention four get too it's another of my favourites. I forgot The Naked And Famous, !!!, Miami Horror and Tesla Boy too.

But I wouldn't really expect to agree completely with either of those magazines.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's Round and Round (65 listens) and Broken Bell's The Ghost Inside (59 listens) are my top 'listened to' songs released on albums in 2010. LCD Soundsystem (I Can Change - 53 listens) are amazing live and This is Happening translated really well. Any band that covers Paperclip People's Throw is the epitome of cool for me.

No surprise to see canofbeans bigging up Four Tet

Ariel Pinks' Haunted Graffiti - Before Today

Broken Bells - Broken Bells

LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening

The National - High Violet

The Album Leaf - A Chorus of Storytellers

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Superpitcher - Kilimanjaro

Scuba - Triangulation

Actress - Splazsh

Hot Chip - One Life Stand

Pantha du Prince - Black Noise

Four Tet - There is love in you

Matthew Dear - Black City

Bonobo - Black Sands

Enjoyed: Anais Mitchell, Robyn, Wild Nothing, Toro Y Moi, Steve Mason, Avi Buffalo, Maximum Balloon, The Tallest Man on Earth, Janelle Monae, Broken Social Scene, Laura Marling, Local Natives and Twin Shadow.

Never heard of half of these

As someone who likes Pink floyd, Roger Waters, Ray LaMontagne, Chilli Peppers (earlier stuff), Kings of Leon (ealier stuff), Kate Bush, to name but a few, which of that lt should I have a listen to?

Anais Mitchell and Joanna Newsome have definitely been heavily influenced by Kate Bush so I would recommend those.

I had to buy a Phil Collins album for my mother the other day and a Katy Perry album for the kids/wor lass. Luckily I don't get embarrassed easily.

I couldn't tell you who most of these bands mentioned are, either.

I've not heard of half of the Sunderland squad! But I don't think the people that have are trying to be be different or interesting somehow!

I know where she's coming from, my sister will listen to any shite if it's 'in'. Funny, after a year they're never heard again in her presence. Then again, although her hearts in the right place, she's a bit of a snob.
