Happy Face 29
Kevin Nolan – Newcastle United (Castrol Ranking: 1329) Newcastle United destroyed Sunderland 5-1 in the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday and at the heart of that stupendous performance was their captain Kevin Nolan. Nolan bagged a brilliant hat-trick against the Black Cats as Newcastle moved to within just three points of a Champions League spot in the Premier League table. http://www.goal.com/en/news/2318/world-pla...onca-fluminense
Guest alex
Can only assume Rob got it wrong and perhaps the explanation Nolan got the 3rd best score in Europe that particular week (i.e. when he got the hattrick against the mackems). Since a quick look at the ratings suggests Nolan's highest position this season is 1099th. Which is a bit more like it.
Rob W 0
"the Castrol rankings use a long term performance measure......... Newcastle players have a low ranking because they haven't played enough PL football, But if you look at the ranking points used as input to the overall Castrol rankings - which measure the input made by a player kick-by-kick -that are secured per 90 minutes a striking result becomes clear. Nolan has more points per 90 minutes than nay other p[layer in Europe other than Messi & Ronaldo..."
