On the day it was a case of two crappy sides playing crappy.

Ranger IS a waste of space

Routledge IS a lower league player

Guthrie IS no Bartom

And Lovenkrands IS another lower league player.

This much is obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse so therefore Hughton as the man earing the not so big BIG bucks should have been more daring with his selection.

His safe selection got him just that......Safeness.

Well at least we can put our European ambitions to rest and concentrate on whats really important. Finishing 17th or above. Hopefully in a few months we will have shipped out the shite, bought a new striker and have Ben Arfa and Gosling fit again.

I wouldn't suggest that around CT, mind...

Just back. Reckon Fulham edged the first half and the second half we were much stronger. Got very frustrating and non winning was certainly not due to a lack of effort. Carroll had a good game but there was no one to pick up his knock ons. Lovenkrands seem to struggle for me and while Ranger was lively, I cant recall him doing much. Jonas was improved second half after a poor first. Guthrie seemed to get sucked inside. Maybe he was told to, Im not sure. Enrique was my MotM. Still viewed as 2 points dropped but we were just missing a bit of luck. We are a bit one dimensional though and I think we need more creativity in the centre or alongside Carroll. At the moment its like stop Carroll and you stop us.

Probably why Nolan AND Carrol might have been the better bet in hindsight.

Ranger and Routledge had less than 15 minutes on the pitch (plus injury time).

Guthrie has not long been back from injury, and Lovenkrands has had hardly any gametime up till now so wouldn't have been sharp under any circumstances.

Yeah Id agree and was somewhat surprised he didnt go for that with maybe Guthrie in the centre and Routledge on from the start. Hindsight as you say though.

Never heard Noelie pleased with a result.... is it an age thing?

It may well be an age thing Mr.Fish, everyday above ground is a good day for me so perhaps I expect more than I should. :pullhair:

I was pleased with the Villa match cos I was there, and I was pleased with the Blunderland and Arse n'all games so don't be so cruel with your criticism. :)

Don't know his name, but it was one of the twits that also did the Everton game as he mentioned a few times.

Some pretty harsh assessments on here tbh. I don't see how moving Nolan forward would have helped in an attacking sense except that we may have had some more movement and defensive grit in the middle. Lovenkrands was quite decent IMO got into good positions frequently and forced two good saves out of the keeper. Considering he's not played much at all this season it was a solid effort with good link up play. A frustrating game where things didn't go our way. In isolation nothing to worry about but if we get a lot of results like this in similar games then it could be cause for concern.

Means getting something out of the Bolton game is far more important.

Bolton are doing ok as well but at least away from home it should be a more open game. Lovenkrands did get into some good positions and maybe with more games under him he'd have put those away.

Well he's 73. You're allowed to be officially negative when you're that age.

I tell you what it is I've never felt such frustration at the match for a long time I didn't want to be there, Fulham set up pretty similar to Blackburn and did it well and we didn't have the quality to get through them. I was watching Gutierrez a lot yesterday, just watching him, his body language wasn't right, he was throwing his arms in the air, looked miserable and other than two decent runs I thought he was very poor yesterday like. You've got to laugh at some clowns in the pub though, apparently the fact we couldn't break them down exposed Hughton's tactical naiivety and he'll only ever be a number two! A week ago we wanted him knighted.

I agree on Jonas. He didnt seem to be with it yesterday. I noticed a few times as well when we broke he didn't make his usual runs up the wing. Just didnt seem to want the ball. Better in the second half I thought.

I dont think Fulham were as bad as Blackburn and the came at us a fair bit opening play and allowing us to counter but again, that was the second half. Last 10 felt like it was just about all us (their keeper taking the piss as wasting time much of the game as well). Was very frustrating. Just one of those days really. Like I said before, I dont think it was lack of effort and I dont think there was a huge amount CH could have done different that would have made a change. Earlier subs maybe.

Lovenkrands is shit. I think I'd rather play Nolan, Ranger or even try Routledge off Carroll.

I don't think he's shit, i think he is just way of the pace. He takes a run of games to get up to speed as shown last season, and nowadays he won't ever get that, just the odd one here and there so i think he's going to struggle. I don't think he's a world beater either mind, on current form i'd have Shola in ahead of him.

You may be right but I think he's Championship standard personally.

He's certainly in that group who excell at that level but might (certainly at the tail end of his career) not quite cut it in the prem, and as he won't get a run of games i don't think we'll see much from him this season.

Should have buried his chance as well. Only when I saw the highlights did I realise what a good opportunity it was. Not saying missing that makes him shit, obviously, but I just don't think he offers anywhere near enough. Hope he proves wrong like.

I agree, he should easilly have scored it and sadly 1 goal is all we were ever going to need in that match.

I'd rather play Viduka and he's retired and doesn't even play for us and lives in another country and is fat.

if you can't see by now that Routledge is nothing other than a shit "bargain and hopefully he will turn out to be quality" cheap shit buy made by 2nd or 3rd rate clubs going nowhere, the same as Best, Lovenkrands, Perch...the first two unable to dislodge an equally shit player like Ameobi from a team crying out for invention and pace.......the fact that the only alternative to Routledge is a midfield player playing out of position only adds to the disgrace of the whole situation.

I despair. I really do. The sad thing is people have blocked me so are unable to read these comments because it doesn't suit them

We are in trouble this season. We will be in the relegation dogfight at the end of the season, unless we can quickly improve the quality of our attacking players ie in January.
