JawD 99
Many supplements can help push you along like but there is a minefield of bullshit to wade through. I take some basic stuff like fish oils and BCAA, the occasional protein shake if what I ate during the day was lacking. Otherwise its as basic as cut eating shit and eat well (not eat salad every meal, just eat well) and then train hard. Not sit and text people while cycling with near no resistance. Dont think every before and after is fake though as thats not the case. Naturally when people have lost a lot of weight its good to compare. I've lost 1 - 1.5 stone in about 16 weeks, could have lost more as well if I had better will power. There are basic tricks you can do in shots though without even photoshop and I think a lot of that is what was done on this one. You can see the outline of his abs on the first shot so you know his bf% must have already been pretty low. then the lighting was changed to highlight shadows etc and slop on tan and clean him up etc. Not to take away from the fact he is still in good shape like. Gemmill 44851
Doesn't in knack your knees if you run properly tbf. Heel striking will wreck your legs, but if you learn how to run properly (mid foot strike), you can run injury free forever. We were built/evolved to run long distances. ChezGiven 0
I've been getting pains on the top of my foot after running, just started a couple of weeks ago. Wrong trainers?
Dr Gloom 21915
could be cramp if you're not getting enough water...?
ChezGiven 0
It's not cramp as it feels tender to touch and it lasted a couple of days. I bought these trainers in May and must have done a few hundred km in them but I guess as they wear their form changes.
Jill 0
You'd better not, since last year my legs did exactly what you described in your initial post and stopped working at around the halfway point. A not very noble 2:37 after 1:10 at halfway, with a "must train better" badge for next time - Jill must have passed me at some point, since I know she started in a later group, though she was good enough not to issue a Nelson-style "HA-HA" along the way. I wouldn't have been so harsh if I'd seen you. 2:14 for me, I was on target for somewhere under 2:10 on the halfway point but went to absolute shit on 11 miles (I must've improved a little, because last year it was 10 miles).. that's what I get for doing almost no longer distance training, I suppose. I've never used the baggage buses as I've always just had wor lad waiting at the other end with my stuff, but the organisation has always been spot on from what I've seen. Lake Bells tits 1
Gotten some peptides now which I will try for the next 6 months. Im 217 lbs now, Expect to be around 250 in 6 months. GH-6 and CYC-1295 DAC for those of you in the know. If you are interested Dr.Gloom or others Im happy to elaborate. Peptides are basically the opposite of Steroids. Steroids ages you at an accelerated rate, Peptides are anti-aging to the point of many people having grey hair get their color back, skin becoming soft again etc. There are no side-effects and you can use it every day for the rest of your life without any drawbacks. What it does is stimulate the release of growth hormone in your body amongst other things. Edited November 20, 2012 by Lake Bells tits

You are certainly correct they are being explored as cosmeticeuticals for ageing but they are used as anti-cancer therapies, Alzheimer's etc. The idea that you can take 'peptides' for the rest of your life is not really very responsible thing to say, there might be some peptides on the market which have been around long enough for them to be considered super safe. However, anything that is referred to by numbers and codes has probably only really been tested properly on animals. What you are referring to is probably a growth hormone analog and i know that GHRH analogs have failed in clinical development due to myocardial infarctions. Be careful what you write on here when you know nowt about the subject.

Dr Gloom 21915
i've never been tempted by using steroids or growth hormones or whatever. just seems like cheating. plus most people who use them generally end up looking ridiculous. a mate of mine from back home is into it and he just looks daft - like one of them off geordie shore. i'm all for getting in shape and looking as ripped as possible but i'd prefer to look naturally fit instead of artificially inflated. Read up on the different peptides if you want to know more about it, and if you could link to that clinical development failure I would be interested in seeing it. It is no less responsible to deem it suitable for long-term use than plenty of other supplements people take. Its been used for ages by many people and is commonly used in recuperation on for instance AIDS patients. ChezGiven 0
It's my job to know about these things. However you don't need to be a medical expert to diagnose that first sentence as concentrated gibberish. All peptides are not the same thing, the ones you are interested in taking are ones which act as an analog to growth factors. The safety profile of GHRH analogs for use in muscle development may be fine but claiming you can take them for the rest of our life with no adverse effects because it's been used for ages reveals how little you know about these things. The one you are taking may well be very safe but there's not the evidence to support the claims you made. If YOU are interested, then there are studies of peptide induced cardiac disease. Google it. Ive read quite alot about it, however if you have a medical degree in this area then fair enough. I know well enough that the term peptides cover a wide specter of different aminos, however the GH-6 and CJC I have yet to find any studies who confirm long-term negative effects, the only common side is an increase in hunger. GH-2 which is supposed to be the second generation does away with this side however users are reporting inferior gains compared to GH-6. CJC-1295 with DAC has been known to inhabit a bleeding effect which some deem as a bad thing, can be good if you are recovering from an injury though. Datbtrue who is known to be an authority on peptides is no fan of the CJC others again disagree with him, there is alot of good info available on these supplements online and Ive read through most of it. Like most things in life there is always someone better informed, if Ive missed something crucial about peptides then feel free to shout out, from what Ive gathered so far its a million times better than steroids Actually, Im going to ask your opinion on CJC-1295 with DAC vs without DAC. I've got a PhD in pharmacology and specialised in pharmacokinetics (how drugs are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and excreted by the body). Admittedly I'm rusty now as have been doing other things for 15 years, but I'd be fascinated to know how 'peptides' have any effect other than nutrition at all. Assuming you're taking them orally, what mechanism do you propose gets them to their target organ, the muscles? Because after you swallow them they will be immediately digested by proteases and peptidases in the stomach, just like any other protein. If you're injecting them though, then they could plausibly be having an effect. Is that what you're doing, and do you think that's harmless?
