Gemmill 46141
I'm 6ft 3 man. I'll leave the dainty size 8s and 9s to all the half pints we've got on here. 4.5 mile run yesterday, and have already been out for 3.2 this morning. Basically nails. Trying to build up the distance each week but a bit new to all this at the minute, and could still feel yesterday's efforts this morning.
JawD 99
Done my usual 3 mile this morn and tried that mp3 (the 33min one). Just to see what it was like. Ill use it in the gym later in the week. Was canny. I like the basic idea behind it and the hill / interval running. The music can be canny to bizarre but you get used it. Good though, Ill certainly give it a bash when in the gym. Main thing I think is it breaks the monotony of treadmill running.

The music is shite, agreed! Makes me work harder than I would without it as well.

Gemmill 46141
Whats your aim at the gym Gemmill? 5 days a week is pretty obsessive. Just to get fitter really. I'm only going 4 days a week now, and running 4 days a week outside. So I only do weights Mon, Tues, Thu, Fri and I've started running Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. Is that too much, you reckon? Jill 0
I go to the gym most days during the week, I prefer the routine because if I don't go after work I'm home by 5.10pm and twiddling my thumbs not knowing what to do as it's too early to be sorting tea out. Holden McGroin 6787
Its quite a life commitment to exercise that much, but if you enjoy it then its all good. Each to their own. Its better than staying in and watching big brother etc. I used to play 5-a-side twice a week, train once and play an 11-a-side game on a Saturday. I'd also get to the gym once or twice a week as well. I'm not going to lie, it was nice looking in the mirror. I didnt really watch what I ate so much but the exercise breeds a healthier diet. I've had to retire from football & most sports now (at the tender age of 31) but I've been in shape all my life so as long as I don't eat chocolate cake for every meal I dont think i'll get that fat ! I never like to stick the TV on until later on when I've had a bath, tidied up etc and can actually relax. I like going to the gym in the mornings because I feel like some sort of goddess during the day but I can only force myself to if I know I've got something on after work. Gemmill 46141
I was actually thinking about dropping the weights down to 3 times a week. To be honest, the whole thing doesn't feel like that big a time commitment cos during the week I'm finished running by 7:15 AM at the latest, and I just go to the gym in my lunch hour. I've always woken up at daft o clock so the morning running just feels like something constructive to do in that time other than ogling Susanna Reid. Fair play like, you've lost a canny bit of weight doing it, haven't you? Did you just do the GNR too? How was that?

Fair play like, you've lost a canny bit of weight doing it, haven't you? Did you just do the GNR too? How was that? Aye, 4 stone. Currently lighter than I've been since I was at school I reckon. Mostly I love feeling healthier and being more active - I had concerns about my ability to keep it up but I'd not go back to being a lazy fucker now. GNR was canny actually, I surprised myself by enjoying it. I'll never be much of a runner but considering I used to fake illness for the 800/1500m at school I'm pretty pleased I can now run for enjoyment. Gemmill 46141
Aye I'm trying to stick at it and not go back to being a lazy fucker. That's part of the reason i've started running cos it feels like something that won't be too bad to keep up once you get to a certain fitness level. Nice one on the GNR. Do you reckon you'll do it again, or is it one of those that's ticked off and fuck getting into that again.
Gemmill 46141
I watched it on the telly and they were interviewing some 90 year old from Jarrow, and I felt ashamed to never have done it and this fucker turns out every year.
Jill 0
I'll definitely do it again, possibly for charity though now I know I'm capable. I've got a PB to beat as well now. It's a great day though, the occasion really is something special.
