Boxing training?

Back into it this week after just 1 run over christmas. 2 x spinning classes, 2 x boot camps, as well as treadmill, cross trainer and some weight work.

Also was back footy training on Thursday-shit loads of running. We just signed the fella who was coaching us-his last club was New England Revolution under Steve Nicol!

Feel a bit stiff from the heavy week, I felt lost without it though.

Yeah boxing training, did another 3 and a half hours today. Body kills, I am very, very tired!

Three and a half hours sounds like overtraining to me. Why so long? An hour or 90 mins should be more than enough.

Make sure you're eating like a horse too if you train that much or you'll start burning muscle.

I'd rather have a gut than spend 3.5 hours out of my day in the gym and be in pain for days after! Everything in moderation, enjoy your life a bit man!

Gejon, listen to J69 and pur yourself a whiskey ;)

So kids back to school, wife back to work, decorations down and general normality......must be the first day of the diet!

14-8 and 3/4 :munch:

Not really following any plan this week just been cutting out the crap and eating a lot more fruit and veg. Weigh in tomorrow and hoping for a few pounds off.

Determined to keep this up this year and get down to under 13 stone, then 12 stone. Always used to be around 11-7 til stopped smoking and started taxi'ing.

I've been enjoying the gym recently, probably because it's empty, but also, it's not a chore because it's downstairs from work and I do it on my lunch so it's a more appealing option than sitting at the desk at 01:00 in the morning staring at a screen.

Agreed. If you can train for 3hours its either over training or not working hard enough when there.

45mins Cardio and/or 45mins Weights is more than enough at the right intensity.

For those that go to the gym, any of you interested in real weight training? As in seeing what your max 1 rep is/ doing 3 sets of 8 to build muscle etc?

Aye, I do all that shite.

A fair bit of technical work in there.

i was back on the kettle bells today. 45 minute session, 16k weight. no more than 20 second rest between sets. mix of swings, jerks, cleans, squats, overhead press and lunges.

absolutely savaged. i can't recommend this form of training highly enough for anyone that wants to burn fat and build muscle at the same time.

Kettle bells are great. You can do loads with them.

Just back from my first match of the New Year, played at centre half and did well. Then scored an o.g. at 1-1. We lost 2-1. :(

On the treadmill this morning, still using the running tracks Gemmil recommended. Canny but it took me about half an hour from finishing to stop sweating..

Never really worried about weight, but the paunch is starting to hang over the belt.

Yesterday I ate a Spaghetti Bolognaise with 3 slices of Garlic Bread, a Big Mac, 3 Ham and Pickle rolls, a bag of crisps, a sweet mince pie, 3 fig rolls, a flake, 2 bananas and 2 tangerines washed down with 2 cans of Stella.

Is that a lot compared to other lazy fuckers that do no exercise outside the bedroom? I'm hoping if I take out the Big Mac and The Stella, it's about right for daily intake and I can watch the gut drop off me without starving.

I'm 6'4".

Big Mac - 600

Bread - 300

Bolognese - 500

Crisps - 180

Mince pie - 300

Flake 170

Banana's - 200

Oranges - 80

Biscuits - 200

Sandwiches - 500

Cans - 300

So thats about 3330 calories.

But having an active job counts for a lot tbf. If you know your weight you can calculate your basal rate (how much you need to eat to stay still).

Calculate your BMR

Men: BMR = 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in year )

Then

To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:

  • If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
  • If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
  • If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
  • If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
  • If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9
