Big shame he went like, particularly to Spuds.

 

Massive respect to Hughton but I also think we got a slice of luck in that some of the players who stayed and have ended up performing for us were on massive dock off wages and so it kept Prem suitors away. I'm assuming Bassong wasn't on a kings ransom though (could be wrong) so he was always gonna get snapped up. Could be a top drawer centre half for the next 5 years plus tbh.

I was taking the piss. I assumed he meant something daft in that it was too low, whereas it would've been good money considering where he was before he came. I think he was 'only' on something like £2.5k a week like.
