That would be up for reading my personal statement before i submit it  ?

unfortunately teachers and "smart" don't particularly belong together.....

Of all the many bees in your internet bonnet, this is the one that makes you look most like the idiots you so decry.

academically "intelligent" yes, but clueless.

There is a BIG difference.

I'm sorry you had such a poor education that you never encountered a good teacher.

I didn't. I've done alright too thanks. But I have realised as the years go by that most of them are idealistic fuckwits.

Then I'm sorry you had such a poor education that you rarely encountered a good teacher.

oh I did, some of them knew their subjects quite well, but most of them are still idealistic fuckwits.

Are you a teacher Meenzer ?

Then I'm sorry you had such a poor education that your teachers rarely lived up to your exacting standards.

And no, I'm not. That much should be pretty obvious really. :suicide:

I didn't. As I said, I've done alright thanks. Why is it obvious you aren't a teacher ? I didn't say ALL of them, just most of them.

I'm guessing the times of day he posts scanned against the fact you could hardly manage to do that while teaching a class of kids between 9-3pm might be a clue.

are you stalking him or something :D

tbf like Leazes, while it is completely up to the individual whether they say what they do as a job on here (and nobody's ever disputed that), broadly speaking it does make those people who have very forthright opinions about things appear less convincing when they're resolutely against saying what if any area they do have any professional experience in.

In precisely the same way as you'd treat the opinions of the man down the pub tbh.

Well that's all right then. And it should be obvious because we've been on the same forum for years and years now and I've mentioned my profession and what constitutes my life experience on countless occasions, unlike some people who repeatedly refuse to do so.

that's right, I don't, and I'm not going to. I've also not noticed you mentioning it either btw. Up to you.

You're a skilled polemicist, I'll give you that. Making out it's someone else's fault that you don't read what other people write on here. :D

The man in the real world, you mean?

My local's got wifi. I just don't know what's real and what's not anymore.

No, I can't afford to be pretentious at £5 a bottle. I'm just a twat as always.

who said I agree with "the man down the pub" ?

I disagree with such opinions as much as I disagree with the "opinions" of those who said anybody but the Halls and Shepherd would be better for the football club".

Take these sort of things on on their merits.

I realise everybody has their opinion. I'm sure most people on here are good blokes and I would like to have a pint with them. No hard feelings on my part whatsoever if we disagree on certain things.

Wasn't having a pop...simply meant that it's a way of taking people to task about things they say isnt it? By saying I'm a solicitor, you can pretty much guess I'm not going to be able to speak with any expertise about the pharmaceuticals industry or whatever (to use an example of a conversation that crops up on here a bit). I'm happy enough to concede this gap in my knowledge though and try and pick up stuff from those who seem to know their subject. On the other hand you've got people who clearly try to pass themselves off as an authority on everything they spout on about and it's palpable bollocks. Fop used to do it, Rob W does it. And they don't reveal what they do principally because they want people to think they've got some omniscient fantasy job that gives them an overrarching insight into every topic of conversation on the planet.
