adios 717
Simpson is no mug and obviously must have some potential or he wouldn't have got a look in at Man U's youth system. It's looking like he could develop into a competent member of a back 4 that is comfortably PL quality. The team performance was immense, and there weren't any players who stood out significantly for me, such was the quality of each individual. All this against one of the best footballing sides in the country; it's easy to hammer dross like the mackems, but this is a result of real significance. We're making up for those home defeats now against the lesser sides and our performances are getting the results they deserve (unlike against City for instance). Hughton is my favourite manager since SBR now, the job he's done under difficult circumstances has been outstanding. it's no coincidence how the results have been since he came back. I think he's already there very solid. perch just not up to it (then again I didn't think gutierrez and colo could make the step up this season, so wtf do I know?) hughton seems to have fantastic man management abilities, fingers crossed he might even have made shola realise his potential. Christmas Tree 4852
Krul said it was amazing there, surely it was unbelievable! World class keeping from him today, one saves especially. He is a brilliant keeper, particularly bearing in mind his age. Not only the saves but he commands all areas of his box which is something I am struggling to recall any newcastle keeper doing in my lifetime. Tom 14013
Amazing win today, didn't feel comfortable till the whistle went as Arsenal as so lethal. Well done boys massive shock today, 3 wins in a row.
Christmas Tree 4852
Shola was fantastic today, doesn't get the praise he deserves tbh This season is the most lively/awake/up for it i've seen him, he's got in the team and deserves to stay there, he clearly enjoys playing off Carroll and played a full part in todays win. Thought he was back to his usual lazy performance today.

With Krul it is obviously still potential, but he looks to dominate the 18 yard box, he's agressive and off his line quickly whenever he can and he's a proper big keeper. It's certainly looks good for the future, he'll have the odd moment this season as he's young but he has to be number one even when Harper returns. Thought he was back to his usual lazy performance today. He covered plenty of ground, and occupied defenders often enough, and he was available in the channels to recieve passes and hold it wide, if it wasn't Shola i don't think you'd be saying that, and i'm not a fan of his, but he did well today. Christmas Tree 4852
Tiote is the key to everything we do now. He is the rock we have been missing since Batty. He has the confidence and the presence to lock it down. Watching him covering space and balancing and re-balancing our def posture is a real joy. Thought Shola did well today personally, had some good touches and combined well with the midfield. My minus is that when we did get round today both him and Carroll were often too slow to get into the box.
Christmas Tree 4852
That was absolutely tremendous. Front to Back we were excellent. Krul's making a massive case to be number 1. Harper can't come off his line and he can't kick a ball. I think Krul looks more alive and maybe shows more all round awareness than Harps. The back four were unbelievable again. Simpson looked comfortable, given he's just come back from injury and the doubters he has. Collo and Willo steady as ever and Jose was strong as usual. Bartons distribution is great to watch with them searching balls. I don't know what to say about Tiote, he's just always there. Gutierrez and Nolan played well but didn't have to be 10/10's today because of Tiote and Barton in next to them. The forward line is full of heart, passion and most importantly talent. Carroll just keeps getting better imo, and Shola's showing signs that Sir Bobby was right in giving him his contract. Maybe I'm over reacting but I'm happy as fuck with the lads in the last year and a half. When all the mercenaries fucked off to sit on benches elsewhere, the current crop fought for OUR club and have done is proud. Chris Hughton is the reason for this I think. You'll probably disagree but I can't remember feeling so proud of a Newcastle squad for the job they are doing. We're a tight knit club for the first time in many many years and it's paying dividends.Fuckin' loving this, like. Get in. Not at all, thats bang on. Park Life 71
Arsenal's main issue is that they don't have a natural leader ie a Viera or Adams anymore, so when Plan A starts to go wrong there is nobody there to galvanise the side and get it fighting. Wenger is doing a lot of things wrong atm ie starting Chamak and leaving Walcot too wide.
Asprilla 96
...and us having a Tiote is why we are doing so well. He's not just a thug, he can play too but you always feel he'll get you out of trouble.

He is a breath of fresh air at Newcastle and everything we've needed. Even when comparing him with some of the favourites in recent times he doesnt play on the geordie fans or anything like that its just so playeded down and matter of fact.....Lovin him. Christmas Tree 4852
To be fair to Ant and Inglez, Barton was playing shit when they mentioned it - no need to be a cunt about it. The games 90 minutes long and we were playing arsenal and his dead ball set up the goal

The games 90 minutes long and we were playing arsenal and his dead ball set up the goal They said said that Barton wasn't doing very well at that moment, not that he's shit in general, which was a pretty reasonable analysis. I'm sure they'd agree that he was excellent in the second half, when his set pieces had improved dramatically and played as big a part as anyone else in us winning. Indeed, and i think there are people who think Forster may go on to be even better than Krul, which means we should have two top young keepers fighting it out. On the downside we won't get another Harper who is willing to be a perma no.2 at the club and eventually if both youngsters end up as good as people hope, one will be off. Dr Gloom 22186
Just back from the match. Fully deserved win. Defence looks the most solid it has in years and tiote is really living up to the hype. He was mopping up everwhere. Nice ball retention all round - only went long when we needed to and yet again played with a spirit not seen since the days of sir bobby. Even when they came at us second half we didn't sit back and still attacked when we could. Nice touch to see all the players and the manager applaud the away support and for a few players chuck their shirts to the crowd. These results don't come around too often. Happy days!
