toughguymick@hotmail.co.uk 0
RICKY Tomlinson donated £1m to a charity that houses the families of sick children at Alder Hey. The ECHO can today reveal the Royle Family star gave the money to Ronald McDonald House so an extension could be built. Charity bosses said they were “astonished” when they realised the size of the donation which paid for the majority of the £1.5m project, made up of apartments. Ricky said: “I have been very lucky in my life and it is such a worthwhile charity. “I have a few charities that I support and they are all for kids, they are our future. “When it comes to money, you can only spend so much, I’m not into cars or race horses or anything like that. “It is nice to be in a position to give something back. And since my grandson was born it brings it home more, he has changed my life.” Dozens of children and their families gathered at the site in West Derby to watch the actor place a time capsule within the foundations of the extension, to be made up of 15 family apartments. Billy Castell 0
Yes Gemmill Good man Ricky. Not sure a creepy clown should be associated with ill children though. Just ask Stephen King or Michael Jackson's lawyers.
