manc-mag 1
Best goal ever scored, just to put thisa one to bed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn3OtbMmaC4 Le Tissier was unbelievable like, always seemed to score amazing goals. This one has never been bettered for me in the history of the Prem. He had no right to shoot let alone score and where the ball ended up was entirely deliberate. You see some cracking finishes week in week out but you know that half the ones that fly in the top corner could just as easily end up in row z. Everything about Le Tissier's game was intentional though. The only thing I never liked him doing (apart from scoring against us all the while), was the way he'd tee himself up for volleys a lot. Thought he looked a dick doing that.
The Fish 10686
If you forget about the fact he's labelled a striker and if, instead, he was labelled a winger I think you'd think differently about him. I know "World Class" is one of those phrases that divides people. Does it mean that he's the best in his position? If so, then he's not. Does it mean that he wouldn't look out of place in the great teams of the world? Then I would say he is. Incredible pace, top class first touch, great vision, a few tricks in his book, fearless, boundless endeavour, and a 1 in 3 strike record is very good for a midfielder. if you stripped away his attitude off the pitch, his nationality, his odd hair-cut choices, and just looked as his attributes, I believe he would not have looked out of place at Man U, Real, Inter/AC. It's a shame he never played at a world cup, I think his passion would have been a welcome counter-point to the France and England "stars" apathy. This is all just garnish now Dave. You've made your accidental good point for the year so pipe down a bit, yeah? What's the matter Sammy, still smarting from when I schooled you in Law? OTF 7243
They're showing Newcastle v Everton at St James' from 03/04 in the leadup to the Carling Cup match. Shearer and Bellamy together up front. First goal was a Shearer knock down that Bellamy read and used his pace to get to, then cooly rounded the keeper. Have Fox Sports been reading this or something.... The look on Dyer's face was priceless after he scored a header that bounced over their keeper, said 'whoops didn't mean that'. Of course Shearer's got two of his own as well.
