Tiote

Solid aint he. Nowt fancy but no messing. Cracking purchase.

He's worth building a side around. The others give him the ball under any circumstances and when tightly marked because his touch and the way he shields the ball are superb.

I was going to say earlier and then thought better of it, watching him and Parker on the same pitch just shows how much a great holding midfielder adds to a team. Essien, Makele, Vieira are all examples of players that just give that extra to a team.

And yes it's early and he's a different style of midfielder but I'd like to hope Tiote becomes the new Rob Lee, albeit, an African Rob Lee ;)

nolan went down in super slo mo there........ not just his running then

Yeah was like he collapsed after running a marathon. In reality it was a 30 yard trot that he was probably dirty about having to make. ;)

3 key points in the bag, thanks very much!

West Ham tootheless in the second half, barely anything for Colo and Willo to do, let alone Krul. I'm guessing that Grant won't last much longer if they're going to perform like that.

I agree in principle that we should be building around players like him, but, he is nothing like a Rob Lee...Lee had far more range in his locker.

Tiote seems to play the short and simple game which i love in a CM. Him and Barton in the middle will be crucial for us.

A very VERY solid performance worthy of PL status.

Very good in defence, excellent going forward ableit all down the left. How ironic that the winner comes from the right?

All we need to do now is sort the home form and maybe some on here might re-gain a little confidence inthe team.

Well done boyz! Fuckin well done!!

;)

We need to stick to two upfront against all sides bar the top 3/4. Give us a chance to win games.

Thought Enrique/Simpson started poorly but grew into the game, especially 2nd half when WH were so shit. Barton was appalling and then suddenly turned into Luis Figo for a minute on the right; Carrol wasn't going to miss a free header from 5 yards. Thought Carroll's positioning was poor at times, was turning up on the left byline when Gutierezz was there, should have been in the box. Terrific performance overall, especially 2nd half we absolutely dominated a very poor WH team. Credit to Hughton for the line-up and keeping the players in check. He gave Simpson and Carroll a talking to when they were mucking about and that sorted them out. Really needed that result. Now beat the Mackems and we can kick on.

Tiote is the key.

great result. west ham were awful but we showed great spirit again after going a goal down to take all three points. credit again to hughton. he's workign with pretty much the same standard of player that went down last time but he's got them battling and working for each other and, crucially, not letting their heads go down when we're up against it.

these are the sort of games that will keep us up. after the equaliser, they never really looked a threat and we seemed to have all the ball. strange that we seem more composed away from home than at st james this season.

nolan was a passenger again for most of the game but then he pops up with the winning goal so what do you do? simpson looked rusty but still played better than a fully fit pirch has been.

Your right and we've all been saying it for a while now. Hopefully CH realises thats the way forward.

Dont think thats the end to Nolan though however.

The bit about us being better away from home...

Is this the sort of thing managers talk about some players not having the bollocks to play at home in front of 50k-they buckle under the pressure?

Out of the starting 11, only Collo has played for a bigger team than NUFC. Does it have an impact? If so-who do you think has suffered from it?

I personally think our lack of quality in the final third is our biggest problem at home.
