Howaythelads 0
Fat Fred has to take his British manager obsession and stick it up his big hairy arse. He needs to forget getting his fingers burned off Gullit and show some balls. Go for the best candidate, not the most available British one. 63299 first hand info like 63663 Why wait until another 3 points dropped at the weekend? The incompetent fool should be sacked now, 12 months too late, like. But better late than never.
maggiespaws 0
I have been sat in the camp with SLP and believed we should give him till the end of the season as dropping him mid-way would not be clever. I'm starting to wane from that as we are such a shower of shite at the minute. However, we dropped Robsom at the wrong time of the season and were paniced into making a decision and settling for 3/4/5th choice manager. This proved (as many of us expected) to be a poor choice and we have gone from an established top 6 side to a side yo-yoing around the bottom half. I take HTL's point about damage control and getting rid now but not necessarily your point about 'not getting rid of a bad manager when there is not a replacement is not an excuse to keep him'. Look at it this way, we've done this once before and ended up with Souness, surely we can't make the same mistake again??? If we are going to get rid of Souness before the end of the season we need to have a suitable replacement lined up - not sack him now and find one later. If we go any further down as the result of another bad choice, we'll defo be relegated. Better the devil you know perhaps??? I'll be honest, I'm not entirely convinced by my own argument but it's something I've been musing over for the last couple of days. We dont want to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. I agree something needs to be done, but we need to get it right this time or we're f**ked. EDIT: The point about not gettig rid was made by LeazesMag not HTL - this is what happens when you have a sneaky post on Toontastic whilst you're at work Edited December 2, 2005 by maggiespaws
Toonraider 0
I want GS out, infact i never wanted him 'in' He's an average manager at best , nothing special with practically no man management skills. always thought it and i'll never change my mind. But do we really want Shearer to take over yet? I adore Shearer, he's a legend, infact, my absolute hero and because of this i dont want him to take over such a massive job with no real experience....i cant bear to think of the consequences if it all went wrong So though my heart would love to see BigAl at the helm my head says no, not yet. 63264 not having a replacement to replace the wrong man, is no reason for keeping the wrong man 63662 No i agree, as i said, i want GS out. But i dont think Shearer is the answer to replace him.
Isegrim 9774
I have finally reached the point where I definitely don't want Newcastle to win when it secures that the tosspot will be sacked. He won't turn the corner anymore, I am 100% sure of that. A win will only delay the inevitable.
