Old Board vs New Board

If you can't get any enjoyment from a derby massacre, then you're basically on a wind-up or a cunt.

if you think one win against an average team suddenly makes Mike Ashley a sooper dooper owner and that the club is going places then you're a moron.

Never said that.

Read it again.

where did I say I didn't enjoy it ? Of course I enjoyed it. So read my posts again.

Look at the bigger picture, as also posted by Happy Face and JawD.

You've been nowhere to be seen until Shepherd or Muslims were mentioned. Only then has your usual tripe surfaced.

eerrr....what tripe is that ? Please show me where I am wrong ?

You're making things up you idiot. Read the posts and look at the bigger picture. If we go down, will beating or yes even thrashing the mackems be any good to us rather than a few wins against other teams that don't matter so much ?

But firstly, show me the posts where I am incorrect, presumably in my comments about the old board I take it, and prove it.

Do it or fuck off replying to me.

Save it. Even in praise you seem determine to piss on people's chips.

All Ashley has to do is give Hughton the contract he deserves, keep looking for deals that suit the club rather than the player's agent and spend a bit of money in the next two transfer windows. We've got lucky with Carroll and Hughton especially, we really do have a chance of building something good here.

Something tells me he'll blow it though.

Anyone thinking that things are getting good under MA need to take a step back imo. CH deserves all the credit he is getting. MA has done one thing right and thats shut the fuck up. Then again, when I sat in my seat before the Sunderland game and looked back across the pitch I was faced with that butt ugly fucking sign plastered the full size on the gallowgate end roof. Hideous. There to remind me every game I go to just what a total twat that bloke is.

7th is 7th..... doesn't matter how you get there. It's early days but we're there because we deserve to be. I'm not giving Ashley credit for anything except putting an end to the constant wasting of money. No chairman knows what'll happen when he appoints a manger. They have to hope for the best. Backing Souness to the hilt didn't exactly do us many favours.

Like I said, Ashley's got lucky with Hughton. He's a find, he really is.

I don't especially care about the Sports Direct signs so long as it means he invests in the club. It's not pretty but if we start solidifying our position and pushing on I can live with it.

I don't particularly like the signs either, but as always, if he's backing his manager and we bring in good players I really wouldn't give a toss about it.

Also, (in the style of leazes of multiple replying to one post) I never said you were wrong. In a roundabout way I was asking where you are when we do well.

I've been on here and other boards since almost day 1 mate, obviously including when we were playing in the Champions League and buying the top players that got us there. Where have you been ?

Just tell me what rubbish I'm spouting. I'm spouting facts. Obviously so far as muslims are concerned, it will take time, but I'm sadly confident that I am right. They are winning, Islam will rule the world through weight of numbers but the softies are accelerating it, and I don't like people coming to this country telling me what I can and can't say then turn around and say their "homeland" is elsewhere. Especially when they heckle our troops and haven't got the balls to go out and fight them in situations when they can retaliate.

All the same people getting as excited as they did after the Villa result.

Have they forgotten we took a grand total of 2 points point from Blackpool, Wolves, Stoke and Wigan between those 2 games?

Just enjoy the result, don't look any further into it.

Football fans having highs and lows about their chances.....Who'd have thought it!

1st point) Pretty much the same, just not posting as much. I joined sometime in '02 I think . I was also here or hereabouts when it slowly started to go wrong and when Ashley completed the great NUFC fuck-up '05-'09. Don't for a second think I'm fairweather, mate. I'm just younger.

2nd point) Again, I'm neither saying you're wrong or spouting rubbish. In certain areas I actually agree with you. I'm a paranoid sod at times and also worried about the future but you come across as, whether you intend to or not, as curmudgeonly (sp?), blinkered and disagreeable. You're nowhere to be seen when times look good (or better at least for the time being) and only seem to pipe up when money, poor performances or past experiences are mentioned. You're probably a lovely bloke in real life and you believe you're telling the truth as you see it, but by god you don't come across well on here.

Although some posters on here hold you in high esteem so I perhaps missing something.

I'll not get into an argument with you because this is the football thread and because you refuse to offer any evidence to back up your claims. I'll just point you towards this....

http://www.wnrf.org/cms/next200.shtml

Of the 3 scenarios for the next 200 years, one is indeed a muslim revival...

"a plausible future is one in which Islam makes unprecedented inroads into the Western world. (See column labeled "Muslim revival"). The assumption is made that 1 percent of the Christians in Europe, North America, and Oceania defect to Islam every twenty-five years. In this senario Christians lose 0.9 percent of the world's population (dropping from 37.9 to 37.0 percent while Muslims gain from 22.6 to 23.5 percent) over the 175-year period 2025-2200."

Even if there is a muslim revival, christianity looks like remaining dominant for hundreds of years.

Significantly lowered the wage bill and in a better league position than when Shepherd left. Says it all really.

have you tried posting on NO and skunkers ? Plenty on there deluded enough to agree with you, that one win all of a sudden makes us the bestest and most ambitious club in the world.

Fuckin brain dead or what.

If you re-read what I put, that isn't what I wrote at all  I merely stated two facts, you can draw your own conclusion from them :icon_lol:

Lucky building an empire of sports shops. Probably the biggest chain around these days. Lucky appointing a cheap manager who's clearly doing a good job  So basically until he spend's trophy signing money any other successes are all pure luck. Nice

Better league position after 10 games aye. I like the continuity of the team at the minute, but only two (perhaps three) are good enough long term to be in the top four positions long term. We'll come 8th-14th long term with this team with no significant investment. FFS's Newcastle era seems to be defined by his last three years as chairman, which frankly is just short sighted, and it appears some are judging Ashley's by the last two month.

Luckily losing millions in casinos and 100s of millions on stock market predictions that go south.

Ashley's a chancer and his history lays it all out for everyone to see.

A reasoned, well explained reply by Wavey Davey, expressed clearly and precisely.

This board is going to the dogs

Running up massive club debts and operating at a loss, or betting your own money.

I know who the bigger chancer is in terms of running the club.

I think he is a 'chancer' though. I'll tell you why - when KK took over he told him he could spend as much as he wanted (within reason obviously), that was from a pretty good ITK source at the time, you can write it off as bullshit if you like, whatever. Anyway, I think he was fairly sincere in that but when he lost money spread betting on shares and then the stock market crash happened after that things changed. Instead of then being honest with KK, the fans et al he thought he could wing it and it would work out ok, with disastrous consequences. If he'd been honest and told everyone things had changed then relegation might never have happened and the fans' expectations wouldn't have been so high so he wouldn't have engendered such hostility. It's all very well pointing to the delusions of fans at NUFC but Ashley created high expectations by firstly appointing KK, then suggesting he would have plenty of money available (this line was still being trotted out by the man himself via his programme notes at the start of the ill-fated 2008-09 season btw).

I'm not in anyway suggesting Shepherd was all good and everything Ashley does or has done has been bad or is malicious but when you look at his tenure the nearest he's got to having a plan of any sort was when he was forced to tighten his belt a bit. Even then he lived up to his billing as a chancer and I'd point to the January transfer window when we went down where he made a profit as evidence of this. An absolutely crazy decision. I also think those who point at his getting lucky with Carroll and Hughton are spot on. The latter was only appointed because he was already here and was cheap and if you don't believe me - how come he's only on the money / contract he was given when KK brought him in as coach?

All in all I still don't think he has any real clue what he's doing or has a long-term (or even medium term) strategy.

I sincerely hope he proves me wrong.

In all honesty if I was offered a choice between the pair of them I wouldn't know who to pick.

Shepherd - Wonderful times and plenty of lovely memories but that was then; and memories is all we've got to show for it. He couldn't possibly compete in todays game.

Ashley - Terrible owner with a penchant for upsetting everybody when we're least expecting it and has turned or is turning us into one gigantic sports direct logo. However, is learning to keep his mouth shut a little more and seems to have shown some (adfmittedly forced) shrewdness in the transfer market. Hughton is turning into an accidental masterstroke.

How if he's got investors bankrolling him?

Because he'd offer Roy Hodgson £500k p/w just before liverpool sack him, pay them compensation for their troubles then sign Giggs and Scholes on 10 year deals, paying them both monthly with blank cheques.
