Kevin 1
Transfer window over, we won't be signing anyone else, i promise thee that. Would've preferred another striker but meh, ben arfa, gosling, campbell, perch, tiote. Can't complain that much. Are you happy with this summers wheelings and dealings? Given that stupid statement I wasn't expecting much if anything from this transfer window so as it stands I'm very happy. If Ben Arfa and Tiote turn out to be what they've been talked up as (and we have a reasonable injury time), I can see us getting up towards mid table saftey. Who's going to score goals? Carroll? rely on him all year when he could be going to jail, nolan a shit PL midfeilder? I also notice santa cruz ain't going on loan to lazio.. hughton hughton sign him up! Tom 14011
Carrol is top scorer in the league* and Nolan has two. *alphabetically ahead of Drogba and Walcott.

Kid Dynamite 7030
I remember Heskey scoring against the toon for Leicester in 1997 when we won 4-3, totally bullied Peacock and Albert ran through the middle of them one on one with the keeper but blasted it from 20 yards through Pav's legs, what a goal. I repeat he's a very good player who thrives on confidence, and withers when there's all out attacks on him. A better version of Bramble in a different position imo. Oh aye, I remember that good goal he scored 13 years ago! Lets sign him up I know stats can be twisted but the facts are, he scored averaged 5 goals a season at Wigan, He's only scored 6 since he went to Villa and in the 11 years he has played for England he has managed 7 goals. He is pony!
The Fish 10857
Not saying we should sign him up, but he's better than Best and probably Shola too.* *he may well be better than Xisco, but I doubt we'll ever know
Kid Dynamite 7030
Marginally. Would make more sense to get Best, Shola, Xisco and Lovenkrands off the wage bill and sign a decent striker though, rather than lumber us with yet another shit forward Edited August 31, 2010 by Kid Dynamite

He needs love and at Villa it's a bear pit of derision, they're the biggest mug support in football. Hleb to Birmingham Gudjonsen to Stoke I'd have been pleased with either of them tbh. Don't think there's any chance at all of the club allowing him to go to jail. They'll pay whatever the kid needs to make sure that doesn't happen. Other than that, injuries are a bigger concern and yes I would have liked to see us sign a quality striker but unfortunately it isn't that easy to bring one in given the retraints of the current regime. I think it's very likely that we'll play one up front for most games (certainly away from home) so from that respect we have more than enough numbers. The quality is a worry though and I wouldn't be thrilled to see any of Shola, Xisco or Ranger playing that target role on their own and although I still think Lovenkrands can do us a bit of a job, I don't think he can do that role either. Park Life 71
Heskey is finished IMO. I can see both sides of the debate, and I take the point about him being a confidence player (poor little flower), but NOW he is FINISHED. If we take one more on board I'd like another forward. Ideally 22-26 yrs old and Dutch/French/Senegalese/Papua New Gunian/or some other variation of French/Dutch coloniosation. Nippy and aggressive. He's nothing like Carroll, style-wise imo. Carroll is a target man who leads the line and looks to get on the end of things. Heskey plays a more withdrawn role and likes to run the channels. Asprilla 96
Regarding Rooney....I thought he was at his peak around 2003/4. I thought that at the time too. Everyone was saying he can only get better but that's rubbish IMO. So many players hit their peak at a young age rather than 26/7. Especially strikers. Same with Owen.
