Happy Face 29
Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has been handed a Plan B should he be forced to start 2011 without star striker Andy Carroll. Hughton’s been promised that financial resources are available for him to sign at least one new player in January irrespective of the outcome of Carroll’s trial. The England Under-21 star faces a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on October 25. However, owner Mike Ashley is determined that the club’s future – no matter what verdict is delivered – will be safeguarded by having an alternative strategy. Believe!
