You will need wire though. Measure the length you'll need and go to richer sounds, tell them the makes and ask what they'd recommend. tinofbeans 91 Posted August 29, 2010 Share Posted August 29, 2010 i'm not sure you've said about your speakers but they are i presume all the same brand /make.... i had to do an install at a friends house and he chose a 5.1 set up and tried using his old stereo speakers for the front pair. it did not work as the stereo speakers were to bright and did not contribute in the right way. i'd second what Happy face said. Richer sounds are very good at helping out on this side of things. yes, and I don't think the length of cable is a serious issue unless it is very long. The cables themselves are like anything else to do with hifi though, as canofbeans says, they have different audio characteristics but Richer Sounds too will prob help here. I have Jamo cables myself and I got them because they were [according to What hifi] a fairly neutral sound, you can't really set up a dem for cables in the shop. I like them by the way, I have about 6 metres of cable per speaker, I think they cost about 20 quid each [years ago] ie about 3 quid per metre. No point in spending a couple of hundred on a hifi amp [for instance] if you have shit cable, you just don't get anything like the potential of the amp with cheap cable.
