ROBBIE KEANE is set to join Newcastle on a season-long loan.

The Spurs striker is in advanced talks to complete the temporary move before Tuesday's deadline.

Keane is determined to play first team football and accepts that his opportunities will be limited at Tottenham.

And Newcastle see a link up with Andy Carroll as a lethal Premier League partnership.

The Republic of Ireland skipper was in outstanding form in the Toon's pre-season games for Spurs but still finds himself down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

And while he would prefer a permanent move to a Premier League outfit, he will welcome chance to play in front of big crowds at St James Park.

Ben Arfa, Keane, Gosling, Tiote, Campbell.

Nicee ;)

Where's it from? Presumably somewhere incredibly bad to contain such obvious mistakes.

this may not have been mentioned, as I can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but why don't we actually just pay a fee and sign him to be our player ?

Why tie up a declining 30 year old to a big money long term deal if you can get him for nothing and put him in the position of playing for his future ;)

errr because as soon as he actually looks any good someone will take him off us?

errr how long has he realistically got left? If he plays well and we make a move for him, and if he doesn't want to move here and would prefer the move elsewhere, then I'd be happy with that.

It will be interesting to see your comments when players such as Enrique move on, because the club doesn't show them the ambiton to make them want to stay.

Are you expecting a quick return to the european qualifications by the way, and will you boo if we ever finish 5th top of the premiership again ?

A reply completely irrelivent to the topic? Not like you

not spending any money for a club like us is totally relevant to the topic but I realise you are one of those fools that think you can put together a good team for nothing.

Too many lemonades last night then ? ;)

Arguably better signings than Pistone, Luque, Boumsong.....you could even put Owen in there although I admit that's with the benefit of hindsight.

You rightly state that we signed some good expensive players...but equally we signed some utter shite. Stands to reason you can get some cracking players for a bargain if you do your homework. No not everything Shepherd and Hall did was bad Leazes....but they didn't spend as carefully as they might have towards the end of their tenure. Ashley fucked up at the start but can you honestly say you'd rather still be throwing borrowed money around like it was going out of fashion?

unrealistic. Nobody makes good signings every time, get real, even Alex Ferguson has made poor buys, so had Arsene Wenger.

Why do you and others keep insisting the chairman of the football club decides who the club buys and sells ?

I have no doubt whatsoever that I would have preferred the club to have spent 15m quid on players [for instance] this summer, instead of what they have. Wouldn't you ?

What has that got to do with signing Keane on a loan deal or on a permanent transfer? It achieves the same thing. Robbie Keane in a NUFC shirt. Surely the less it costs the better?

Fucking tit man honestly.

It was the late Sir Bobby Robson who suggested that mate. Do you know otherwise? :icon_lol:

So the chairman decided to buy Craig Bellamy, Laurent Robert et all, and ran a football team which qualified for the Champions League and Europe on a regular basis ? He would have made a good manager wouldn't he ;)

Freddy Shepherd lowered my expectations before he left you utter thoroughbred spacker. I expected turmoil and half arsed performances from his superstars on a weekly basis. Now I look forward to seeing a spirited team with a good attitude and stability. I was completely sick to fucking death of the club before Shepherd went, I had a big problem with player's attitudes and lacklustre performances. I don't give a fuck how much is being spent on players, just seeing them out there looking like they give a shit gives me more pride than I felt at any time in Shepherd's last 3 seasons.

aye, Freddie's team talks must have been pretty shite when we finished 7th in the league and qualified for europe. Lets hope Mike Ashley gives us just one year that matches the other 12 years that you have conveniently written off too ;)

Written off 12 years? You were talking about fucking lowering my expectations, I pointed out that they were already fucking low at the end of Shepherd's tenure. Are you so numb in the skull that you forget the point you were actually making and that I was responding to?

Are you expecting a quick return to the european qualifications by the way, and will you boo if we ever finish 5th top of the premiership again ?

A reply completely irrelivent to the topic? Not like you

not spending any money for a club like us is totally relevant to the topic but I realise you are one of those fools that think you can put together a good team for nothing.

Too many lemonades last night then ? :icon_lol:

What has that got to do with signing Keane on a loan deal or on a permanent transfer? It achieves the same thing. Robbie Keane in a NUFC shirt. Surely the less it costs the better?

Fucking tit man honestly.

you're totally deluded, as well as stupid, if you can't see that Mike Ashley has lowered your expectations to that of Bolton, Wigan etc.

Either that or you're just disagreeing with me because it's me telling you, which is quite sad :icon_lol:

Are you so numb in the skull that you forget the point you were actually making and that I was responding to?

you have forgotten about the 12 years between 1992 and 2005, don't they count ? You also say you were pissed off finishing 7th and qualifying for europe too :icon_lol: I do hope you are going to enjoy years of fighting relegation instead under your man Ashley :icon_lol:

this may not have been mentioned, as I can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but why don't we actually just pay a fee and sign him to be our player ?

Why tie up a declining 30 year old to a big money long term deal if you can get him for nothing and put him in the position of playing for his future ;)

errr because as soon as he actually looks any good someone will take him off us?

errr how long has he realistically got left? If he plays well and we make a move for him, and if he doesn't want to move here and would prefer the move elsewhere, then I'd be happy with that.

It will be interesting to see your comments when players such as Enrique move on, because the club doesn't show them the ambiton to make them want to stay.

What a fucking prick. DO THEY COUNT TOWARDS WHAT LEAZES?

I was pissed off with finishing 7th because it hindered us. If that hadn't happened, the stupid decision to appoint Roeder against the wishes of 90%+ of fans wouldn't have predictably made the next season a write off, yet again. Which I expected as soon as it happened, because, as stated, my expectations were so low.

I thought you had me on ignore again ? :icon_lol:

Maybe putting me on ignore is stunting your learning curve ?
