They've wasted a lot of money and signed a lot of shite.

AKA "The Shepherd Method".

*waits*

But they're ambitious so that makes them good ;)

I don't think that's fair. I was as appalled as everyone else at how the first 2-3 years of Ashley's ownership went....but after relegation we came straight back up and have a decent squad with a bit of team spirit and a stable manager. We're not throwing borrowed money away on shit players and not giving stupid long term contracts to players who are well past their sell by dates.

We'll obviously see what happens next but you can't really fault the business we've done this last transfer window.

Some people need a public bid for Rooney mate or they're not happy.

I'm with you, I think the step backwards has done us a world of favours, cleared out a lot of deadwood and we're looking pretty sensible in our approach to rebuild. I said it before but just the way our team plays and the character it seems to have developed has got me excited about watching us again. I didn't have that for years towards the end of Shepherd's stint. I always expected us, despite having superstars, to lack bottle and be shit.

Seriously I'd have to argue that is all yet to be seen. Three games does not make a season.

Guest Tuco Ramirez

Credit it where it's due I watched some of the mackem game yesterday, and they were well worth their win. It wasn't just their battling they played the better football too. Milner was shite. Donno what's happened to the mackem crowd though just 38,000 again.
