I didn't think Emre was that bad?

All 3 were knocking on 30

All on Rolls Royce wages

All 3 inj prone

Emre the mind boggles was the last what I'd term a creative mf we had. But a 1 good game in 5 merchant.

in 05/06 emre was 24, luque was 27 and owen was 25

Well they played like 30 yr olds then. Owen defintiely had the inj overworked body of a 30yr old and so did Emre, who came to us after some

ghastly injuries and Luques one big inj finished him.

Just based on what they were able to recoup in fees on the chart.

Clearly Chelsea's title is a better return than Wigan's balanced spreadsheet.

Boro would have been 10th if they had stayed up!

Wages :)

Mad though, making a profit on transfers, plus ticket sales, TV money and they still cant run it like a business.

Aye but as others have alluded to, you can guess where the 'profit' went. Redknapp couldn't lie straight in bed, etc. Also, the figures would be partly down to the fact they barely have a squad since going down and they've been a selling club more or less since they won the cup (or so it would seem anyway). It goes back to '92 as well. They've only spent big relatively recently.

Aye. We were unlucky with Owen though. Not defending the little cunt but he'd never suffered the sort of injuries he did here prior to arriving. It was all hamstring problems that kept him out of (at a guess) 20% of the games in a season. Was Luque injury-prone btw? No idea. Is having a heart the size of a pea classed as an injury?

Expected us to be 5th best tbh.

We would be if it hadn't been for Ashley's austerity measures.

£55+ million recouped in the last 2 years.

LM would be proud of you :)

Tbf to FFS at least he had some balls compared to the current encumbent.

I don't know about Owen, I think the niggling inj had started at Liv hence Houlier not being able to guarantee him games iirc Baros was keeping him out the side, could be wrong. What happenned to him anyway? At the end of the day if you can you have to take a risk on players like Owen cause the upside is so big and he was a proven goalscorer (2J alarm goes off in house regarding his finishing prowess). ;)

Well we found out later the Souness only made one call reg Luque to his mate who still lived in Spain (Robinson?) and on the strength of it about 15m was spunked.

Not all bad luck we did slip Dyer away for 6m. :)

We've never had the creativity of late in midfield and I think we've all been moaning about that for at least 5 years now.
