How so?

 

I agree that it is in Washington where there's no room for ideaology.

 

But there is a strong conservative element and a strong liberal element across the country isn't there?

Left/Right ideologies will always exist as long as humans are torn between self-interest and empathy/sympathy for others.

OK, fair enough.

 

My point was that our politics are intrinsically linked to the psychology of the human condition.

 

Picking up on your point, i think you are right about some religious people being so entrenched in their world view they become unsymapthetic (or even aggressive) towards those who dont share it. Its a by-product of the world view.

 

To be honest though, am not sure we'll get an argument out of this, so i've bumped the Obama thread :angry:
