The Forced Listening Thread

A bit of an experiment that may or may not work here, but might as well give it a go!

Basically it works as follows:

The first person (me) posts up a Youtube video of a song, with maybe a little description of the artist and the song. The second person posting must listen to the song the whole way through before leaving some sort of comment on what they liked/disliked about it, and then provide a video for the next person to watch (and so on and so forth).

So to kick us off, I give you a band from Edinburgh called Meursault. I found out about them through my sister, who knows them in a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend sort of way! They are largely unheard of, although this summer they have had a busy Festival Circuit which included a performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury.

It is largely the sort of chilled out music that this video shows, although there are a few more upbeat tracks to check out if you enjoy them.

The song is an ever so slightly more acoustic version of a song off their first album, and it was all recorded after 'too much wine', as they put it.

My record in the betting thread may be patchy, whether slavishly following Wally's advice or ploughing my own paths of doom, but I would have happily staked my life savings on you posting an Eminem song as your first contribution to this thread.

That is all.

Not my favourite Bonamassa record but certainly a good track and it's nice to see how they record it. It must be nice to have such a leathal array of guitars to switch from and to. Anyway he's a good guy and I've met the bass player too who - whilst being a bit mental - is fairly sound.

The Black Keys seem to have got really big and have two new people to play live. I had a feeling when I listened to the new record that they would need a bit of hand to play them live. Previously they have got away with it by jamming through the more complicated songs, doing the Hendrixesque rhythm/lead or the White Stripesesque solo without any backing whatsoever.

Decent performance anyway and I like the look of that guitar.

Letterman! Fuck I hate that boring cunt. Hope someone pisses in his coffee cup *smiles at camera and goes yum!*

What a twat.

To be honest once I saw they were playing on Letterman I couldn't watch any more and as much as I like the Keys, I think it is time we parted ways on social differences!

Circulatory System on the other hand

Oh and Kevin, fuck off no-one wants to hear your pointless and invalid opinion. Let the grown ups (and Wacky) chat - run a long child.
