tinofbeans 91
because whilst still a great keeper he still hase some very obvious flaws (his kicking/ passing is still nowhere near good enough) and he's more susceptible to high looping crosses.... lack of leadership of his centrebacks.... he is however better than both almunia and the 2nd choice at arsenal. this stuff from him smacks of some serious toys out of the pram behaviour. Meenzer 15718
It's an odd one really, like it is whenever anyone you like does something you consider to be wildly out of character. I still feel inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, but going to Man City of all teams then being surprised when they find a younger, sexier model to replace you is naivete of the highest order. Happy Face 29
this stuff from him smacks of some serious toys out of the pram behaviour. This is what I can't understand. When Babayaro accepted being paid handsomely for sitting on the bench we called him worse than muck. Harper has been criticised for accepting a stand-in role at Newcastle for 10 years. Last season Mancini said Given was one of the best 5 keepers in the world. He made him Captain. His attitude is plainly right. Why would the fifth best keeper in the world accept sitting on the bench when he's got limited time left in the game?

Guest Tuco Ramirez
He realises Man City are a nothing club, all the money in the world won't change there that, where as Arsenal have all the heritage you could wish for and title challenges. I don't know what it is about Man City, I sound jealous, but they seem to me to have lost their soul, they just seem sterile, they represent the evil in football better than any club in the world. They STILL can't fill their stadium, they just seem all wrong to me. Their best player to me is Bellamy, I certainly think he was last season, he doesn't fit the image so he's away. I hope they win fuck all. Shay should've went to Arsenal after that Blackburn game in 2007.

I know he's older etc. but it's not like they need the money. I'd also add Ireland is as good as, if not better than, Milner.

Ireland's a brilliant finisher really composed player and passer, but do we really want someone who told the world his nana had died to get out of playing for Ireland, when she's sat in the hoose alive and well watching Dickenson's Realdeal? The young dipper they have is better than Guthrie as well if they're looking to offload him forget his name.
Barney 0
Ireland is much better than Milner. Bellamy has constant run-ins with Mancini, and he's in the fortunate position of having the funds to turf him out and replace him with anyone he wants. Ireland's out of our league, I was just saying it because it looks like Milner's going to Man City while Ireland'll be away. Talk of him going to Villa + £15m in exchange for Milner is fucking insane.

And tbh, I think Bellamy's had run-ins everywhere he's been which is the main reason he's never quite fulfilled his potential / had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. Agreed-some clubs/managers have worked to 'manage' and put up with him though. Hughes and Sir Bobby are 2 of them. Whoever had him at Celtic, too. Souness and Rafa had the resources to replace him, so they shipped him out and did just that. Mancini is the same-they're in a position to replace him with someone who doesn't need so much attention and causes as much trouble. I agree with Stevie aboput having him back in a shot too-he would make an incredible difference to this team.
