Hi there,

I'm coming down to Newcastle on the 8th till the 12th and I was wondering what there is to do in Newcastle except the pubs and clubs?

I quite fancy the stadium tour but what else is there?

Also how can I get from roughly the Monument area to that shopping center not eldon square but I think I need to get a bus or metro think its the metro centre the massive one with loads of quadrants?

Thanks in advance any advice is welcome and appreciated.

Other places to look up:

Quayside

Baltic (over millenium bridge from Quayside)

Centre for Life

to get to the Metro Centre - tough one for me as I drive, I know there is a bus, no 100 iirc, that I think leaves from near the monument.

There are shuttle buses run from all over the city centre to the Metro Centre.

Just make sure you've had a tetanus jab as the place is full of mackems.

As for things to do, what do you like?

Usually it would be drinking :scratchchin:....But I'm going with the bird so shopping, any theme park things? anything fun really?

Cheers.

The Quayside is the riverside, where the Baltic etc are located.

go see the angel of the north up close. it's prtetty impressive.

baltic gallery and a stroll up the quayside essential.

walk around jesmond deane if the weather's nice.

if you've got a car and like the great outdoors, a drive up to hadrian's wall and a walk is nice.

The Hancock Museum is free and good for a couple of hours if you have kids.

Same for the Discovery Museum.

3 hours at the griddle and you're in.

How many hours until you get in?

About 20 minutes since you ask.

60k a year, not bad fist, not bad at all :scratchchin: What do you work as :icon_lol:

Agree re: the Laing. Much more consistent than the Baltic which is a bit hitty-missy. Not sure if it's still on but there was an excellent Japanese exhibition there which included the famous 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa'. Even if you've never heard of it you'll have seen it.
