luvly_jubbly 0
Hi there, I'm coming down to Newcastle on the 8th till the 12th and I was wondering what there is to do in Newcastle except the pubs and clubs? I quite fancy the stadium tour but what else is there? Also how can I get from roughly the Monument area to that shopping center not eldon square but I think I need to get a bus or metro think its the metro centre the massive one with loads of quadrants? Thanks in advance any advice is welcome and appreciated.
JawD 99
Other places to look up: Quayside Baltic (over millenium bridge from Quayside) Centre for Life to get to the Metro Centre - tough one for me as I drive, I know there is a bus, no 100 iirc, that I think leaves from near the monument. Monkeys Fist 43066
There are shuttle buses run from all over the city centre to the Metro Centre. Just make sure you've had a tetanus jab as the place is full of mackems. As for things to do, what do you like?

Dr Gloom 22147
go see the angel of the north up close. it's prtetty impressive. baltic gallery and a stroll up the quayside essential. walk around jesmond deane if the weather's nice. if you've got a car and like the great outdoors, a drive up to hadrian's wall and a walk is nice. Ayatollah Hermione 14050
The Laing is also alright if your lass is into art. As for getting to the Metro Centre, the X66 bus from Gateshead Interchange takes you straight there if you're that way. The Hancock Museum is free and good for a couple of hours if you have kids. Same for the Discovery Museum.

Guest alex
Agree re: the Laing. Much more consistent than the Baltic which is a bit hitty-missy. Not sure if it's still on but there was an excellent Japanese exhibition there which included the famous 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa'. Even if you've never heard of it you'll have seen it.
